Oh, OUCH. I love how straight-forward Jim's thoughts are here and the way it's so brutal but entirely experienced as brutality. So interesting, wow.

This story is what Pon Farr should be (IMO of course). I'm not going to say it's hot despite the brutality. Call me wrong -- I'm good with that -- but it's hotter BECAUSE of it. Because that makes it real to this world, real to this relationship. And that second person... World of genius right there.

This is going in my memories for sure. I have all the feels for this story. ALL THE FEELS!
