Totally ganking this from embroiderama, because it is AWESOME!

Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll tell you what happened, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

my flist is a mighty flist, meme me

Don't know if you want to try this one out, but here it is. If you can't do it, just tell me and I'll change it up.

Crap, I swear to god I can read. I swear it. I was drinking when I read it. So how about the o e story where Peter saves Neal from the foreign prison. Sorry about that. I was completely out of it on cider and vodka.

It takes Neal a long, long time to recover in Singapore, but he does. There he learns from Sara of the sacrifices and heroics Peter did to save him and he's so touched he nearly can't talk to him. He also learns that Sara bankrolled the whole thing. When he finally goes home, his original sentence is commuted with one condition: he wont publicize the events that led to him being in Myanmar, nor will he sue. He takes the deal and Peter is disgusted - not with Neal but with the government. He takes early retirement and devotes the rest of his life to helping people like Neal out of dangerous prisons. And even though the story was originally written as gen, there would have to be OT3, because I'm wired that way.

I've just been rereading the whole of Undeniable Chemistry, for the Thanksgiving fic. We got the engagement, times two even, and now I want the wedding.

PRETTY PLEASE!

That will definitely happen, though I'm not sure how, exactly, LOL. So much for the meme! But it'll be a series of vignettes of events leading up to it. Oh, and LOTS of porn. It's a porntacular.

But I CAN tell you about the next chapter... which I have been writing on and off for the last few months (OK, more off than on). In it, Keller returns, Peter and Clint conspire to keep it from Neal to protect him, and he naturally figures it out, and winds up rescuing them. I must write this chapter before I can ever write the wedding, so that one little loose end is tied up nice and neat.

Sense Memory -- Future please after Neal puts on the lotion....

and BTW -- I'm in love with your new userpic. Where's it from?

Neal just keeps slathering it on until Peter can't control himself. Things come to a head (heh) with them nearly getting caught in the supply closet or something. Neal freaks out, and then Peter reveals he figured it out a couple days before and shame on Neal for pulling this little stunt!

IDK the pic's source - elrhiarhodan emailed it to me today! It is from Magic Mike, however - Matt slipping on his little collar and tie for the Its Raining Men number.

LOL Awesome! Love that Peter figured it out and is tormenting Neal.

That's one of the things I like - Peter getting the best of Neal in a humorous way.

Shaking Through - a week or two afterward

And I just realized that I haven't ever commented on that story, which is horrible because I've re-read it MANY times. I think I first read it when I was creeping into the WC world to grab h/c fic but not actually participating in the fandom. Not that that's any excuse! In any case, I love it lots.

They get Neal home from the hospital, and Peter is v. v. protective, to the point of nearly losing his shit. Because some OPR investigator comes around, wanting to question Neal on what happened with the shooting, and Peter is not having it. Neal has a very long road to recovery, but manages to return to the FBI. When he does, the investigation's results are announced and he is given a commendation and there is talk of shortening his sentence since he saved Peter's life.

You have so many great fics to choose from, and part of me wanted to go back and look through them all (okay, not *all*, but really look hard) to find just the right choice, but I decided instead to go with a quick look for something recent. So..."So Deep As A Well" (AU Vested Interest tag)...what happens when Neal is released from the hospital?

Love this meme, btw.

One thing I wanted to play up in that one (though I'm not sure if I was very effective at it) was the fact that Neal really did panic at this injury, and he thought he was about to die, and he would have to deal with that. I envision some sort of minor freak-out either in Peter's presence or not, followed by perhaps some post-traumatic issues, though not full-on PTSD - but some definite second thoughts the next time he's asked to risk his life for a case. I also don't see Peter doling out the "cowboy up" advice either - he was just as scared by what happened as Neal was. I see an over-protective Peter and not-quite-minding-at-all Neal.

Hmm, that might have to be written now...

Hmm, I think it does have to be written. :-)
