Cheftestants
Jim Kirk: He has no formal training, having apprenticed himself at the age of 15 at a restaurant in Arles, France. He spent the next several years distinguishing himself at restaurants in Europe and America, but has never owned his own place.
Spock: Trained in France and Asia, though no one seems to know where. James Beard Rising Star winner, he is mysterious to all but Nyota, who is his ex-girlfriend. For reasons we do not initially know, Nero hates his guts.
Leonard “Bones” McCoy: Scion of a long line of famous BBQ cooks, he’s rejected that to become a real chef. Earned his nickname from Jim due to his dish in the first Quickfire.
Nyota Uhura: Daughter of foreign diplomats, she grew up in New York and attended the culinary school in Paris with Spock. Spock’s ex-girlfriend and business partner.
Nero: Very intense, competitive, tattooed chef and all-around bad guy. Hates Spock’s guts.
Montgomery “Scotty” Scott: A very solid technician; perhaps uses too many organ meats…
Hikaru Sulu: Japanese-American chef, he likes really big knives.
Pavel Chekov : 17-year old Russian wunderkind
Gaila: As bubbly a personality as her movie counterpart, she is a talented chef and also a gossip, who knows everything about everybody in the competition.
Brian AKA “Cupcake”: A former pastry chef, trying to transition to cuisine; Jim names him Cupcake the first day when he finds out his former occupation.
Carol Marcus: Currently a vegan chef working in Big Sur, she used to date Jim Kirk.
Christine Chapel: A former Army nurse in Afghanistan, she has recently transitioned to being a chef. She is pretty kickass.
Gary Mitchell: Kinda flirty, kinda handsome, kinda douchey.
Sabine Saavik: Chef who hails from Sweden, her goal is to bring her native foods to the American table - it’s not just meatballs and lingonberries, dammit!
Will Decker: He’s kinda bland and meh - like in the movie (I am of course referring to ST:TMP)!
Janice Rand: Young, impressionable, inexperienced - the other cheftestants will eat her alive, the poor lamb.
Andre Chemise-Rouge: You know why he’s the first to go.
Judges
Padma Lakshmi: Host of the show and judge
Tom Colicchio: Head Judge
Christopher Pike: Full-time judge for the season, he knew Jim’s parents before he was born.
