“So you came with Monroe, huh?” the big man rumbled. “You a freak like him?” he asked, the menace unmistakable in his tone.

Nick felt his face redden, and mentally prepared himself for a fight. Dealing with homophobes was an unfortunate part of life, but he didn’t want to make a scene in Anna’s house. “Excuse me?” he asked, trying to keep his tone even.

“A vegetarian?” the man spat, the contempt in his voice and on his face plain to see.

So I really like Grimm but I don't ship Nick/Monroe (or anyone, really - I haven't gotten into the fandom or the fic, really). That said, I get why they're a pair in fandom, and the summary of this story made it hard to resist (that and I love your writing generally).

I love it! Nick insisting they have to go - after all, Monroe's mom is expecting them - and then getting more than he bargained for. And all the little details of Monroe's childhood home and his family. Great stuff.
