beautiful conundrum, thanks for appearing

It's humbling to feel loved--geniunely, that is. Not for my sex appeal
not for my wit, or age,
not for someone else's need to have a friend
I have friends who love me just cause, and that is humbling and wonderful to know/feel (there should be a word that means both).

Saw Cornell West speak tonight, in an auditorium filled to the brim with people giving him ovations for saying things like Love is Scary, love conquers hate,
and that makes more and more sense, when i think of how humbling it is to feel loved.

He said, Know yourself, wrestle your demons, forget career find your passion....     If only i felt that my passions would help the world!
I need a major.
I have one continual question these days: what is the right direction to take, in which my passions will be made to serve the world?? How does art, poetry, travel, serve the world?
...................clearly, the thing to do is find a way to practice my passion in a way that trains me to love.................................................................................
