The ninja glared at the mage, but the mage's expression never did change. Instead, he squeezed Elmo-chan tighter. "so this means..?" he started slowly. Kurogane nodded. Fay's expression was now more confused than anything, but he still attempted at keeping a smile. "Thats not true, Kuro-rin... I love plenty of things that loved me in return and--". He was brutally interrupted by the ninja "shut up. your getting a pet. You have no say in the matter.". Fay laughed softly "but wont a pet bother Kuro-tan more~?". Kurogane wasn't quite sure how to respond to that. no.. the mage only annoyed him sometimes, but overall, it was worth it if he got to wake up and see his face in the morning everyday. He wanted to continue to see that, every morning, for the rest of his life. Still, that wasn't something that Kurogane could admit to the mage. "no. It wont." being Kurogane, there were no explanations to be given. Usually when Kurogane said something, that was just that and nothing more. The crimson eye-d ninja would never mention that he was only doing this out of hope. Yes, hope. Maybe if the mage could slowly learn to return the love that he, himself, had for the slender blond. Even if the fool seemed completely oblivious to the fact that Kurogane could never take his eyes off of him.
The darker and overall bigger man than pulled Fay into the pet store. "Hyuuu~!!" came an amazed 'whistle' from the mage's lips. Those big beautiful blue eyes widened with complete and utter fascination! There were kitties, puppies, bunnies, birds, lizards, rodents, and oh so much more! even FISH! Kurogane had to fight from smiling at his beloved's childish joy at the pet store. Fay, still in his pajamas, wasn't sure where to go first! Oooh the birds were beautiful, the puppies were energetic, the kittens were adorable, and oh! How on earth could the mage choose a pet? Kurogane, sensing that maybe the blond needed some help, took his hand this time, and led him over to the kittens. "find what you really want." he grumbled, trying to not show his joy at the mage's excitement.
Fay, of course, had loved things back. There was Chii, but Kurogane had never been witness to that. What about Mokona? Well, they were more of a tag-team than anything he guessed. Or maybe Kurogane just didn't count it? Yes, he truely did love Sakura-chan and Syoaran-kun, but he was more or less a parental to them. But most importantly, he truly did love Kurogane. The worst part was not being able to show him just how much he did. Honestly, he wasnt even sure how Kurogane felt about him. The ninja seemed to send mixed signals a lot, but maybe that was because of the fact that Fay enjoyed teasing him. Just like a little kid, Fay would pick and poke at him. A basic cry for attention... yes, Fay was a 'grown up', and mature when times called for it. Otherwise, no. Fay was a child, stuck in that body. Curious as ever, and maybe making up for some lost time? (z'omg aw! XD)
The blond's thoughts than led him to a question. As he stroked the pure white kitten in his arms, he turned to Kurogane and made eye-contact. His big blue eyes showing every emotion he had at that moment..."Kuro-sama? How is buying me a pet a favor to you? You said you wanted me to learn to love something back, that already loved me... than you said after this *WE* can move on.. I don't understand"...

Sryyyyy this took so long... T__T" i seriously didnt know what to write XDD
Onward!!~

"...I don't understand.."

At that instant, a low growl threatened to slip out. Kuro held onto it for what felt like an eternity before letting loose a frustrated sigh. Subtlety had never been his strong point. Reason after reason had spurned him on this mission, but surely the mage had, by this time, noticed at least some his intentions. One which consisted of trying to shake him of his insomnia. (dun kill me, im really desperate for ideas tt isn't too fluff =P) He glared at the stiff-limbed, red demon-spawn still cradled in Fai's arms, and noticed with some morbid satisfaction that the snow-white kitten was happily treating it to some de-furing and de-cottoning.

Emo-chan had been keeping the mage company beside his pillow for the past few nights since they left that last world. Kuro didn't see any novelty in the horrid thing, but seeing Fai clinging and murmuring to it at night made him want to take serious action. And here, the oppurtunity presented itself in all it's glory. Kuro congratulated himself on the success of his task, and now faced his new challenge: deciding on a safe explaination to the man in front of him.
He then proceeded to eye his subject closely, weighing up the consequences critically and carefully. Fai must have looked beautiful as a child, Kuro thought. Now, the silky-blonde stared at him quizzically with shining, sky-blue eyes, his soft cotton pyjamas spilled over his body like a five-year old wearing his father's PJ's for a giggle or two. The kitten romped in his arms and over his chest, batting at Ero-chan (o.o) when he saw fit.

Sleeeeep......... zzzzzzzzzzz

(lol! dont worry about it xD I left off at a BAD place!)

The beautiful blonde mage never did notice the kitten's actions. He was lost in Kurogane's determined eyes, searching for his answer, since the ninja had not yet said it out loud. He really hadn't ever gotten the chance to just stand in front of the taller, darker man.. and just.. admire his strong features. Especially in Kurogane's face. Never would the ninja have allowed such an action, instead, he would have made a face at him.. than yelled at him to stop creeping him out. In the end, Fay would have just laughed it over, poked at him, teased, called him names, and that would be that. This time, was different. The mage was enjoying the ninja's handsome face. While the other's deep crimson eyes ran over his face like water.
Things were silent for a moment between the two, something that was very rare. None-the-less it still happened. The darker man's mouth slowly opened to speak. But, nothing came from his mouth. How on earth would he ever explain the situation to him? Fay's beautiful eyes blinked, and than he broke the silence. "I dont think Im the only one here who needs to learn how to love something in return, Kuro-rin.". Shocked by the statement, Kurogane's eyes widened slightly... pupils dialating. "What exactly is that suppose to mean?". "Well, everyone in our little family loves one another very much.." Fay started, sounding proud, but.. there was a hint of somthing more in his voice. Something beyond the joy of love here. Sadness. The ninja interupted "who says I dont care?". The blonde smiled a little, but the ninja continued. "who says I dont show love, just... in a different way you seem to be used to." that was more of a statement. "Im protecting you all, arent I? if I didn't care, I wouldn't bother.". Amused, the blonde had a real smile dancing across his face.
"awww, so Kuro-wan does care~".
"yeah. I do.".
"than what exactly are you planning with this favor of yours? US moving on after I learn to love something that loves me back... I would really like to hear your explanation before I start to jump to conclusions over it."

XDD SERIOUSLY. This fic needs to END SOON! lolol
HURRY UP AND -SPEAK- KURO-RIN DX<. *thumps him*

Kuro had never felt himself as a caring sort of individual. He just deduced that others simply needed caring for. Protection. That was, he decided young, to be the main reason of his existance as a sworn ninja, sword or no sword. The long-gone country of Suwa was meant for him to protect, has been his destiny and dream since he learnt how. His purposeful direction had been tragically snatched away and veered sharply off course, dropping him into a cocktail of planned destinies but also with new oppurtunities to perform his skills. Hitsuzen was cruel, but with its price come rewards for his chosen decisions, whatever he chose.

Admitting that he did in fact, care about their 'little family' as the mage so delicately put it, shook him to the core, and left him feeling betrayed by his own stubborness to prove himself. The conversation seems to have taken a turn for the worst. Not for the mage, though. The idiot was actually smirking lightly at kuro's expected reaction to his taunt.
Kuro grimaced.

"Dammit, you idiot. Isn't it obvious that I'm actually trying to help you for once in my life??" Ah the denial. Bare feet pounded their way past the kitten play-pen, meeting up with a still, unsure pair that hesitated and bordered on fleeing.
"I don't care who or what's chasing you, and I also don't give a damn what it's planning to do once it catches up, but be sure of one thing: Once I'm here, I'm going to make sure it never does. And while it's taking it's time to get it's ass over here, I'll make sure you don't spend your time moping and losing any sleep over one stupid thing that will not happen."

( yes xD yes this goes! its gone from Comedy to FLUFF! ::amused:: almost like a role-play type of thing.. WHAT XD?! I love it when jokes turn into something more~)

The blonde was a little stunned at this, but no, he never did show it. Instead he set down Mr Emo-chan, and let his smirk widen a little. The kitten still in his arms as they crossed over his chest a bit. "You didn't quite answer my question, you know~ you never explained what WE would be moving on to". This light teased provoked Kurogane to respond. "I just SAID!" the ninja growled, frustrated. "I'm going to protect you--". However, he was stopped in mid-sentence. The mage's words canceling out anything he was ever planning on saying. "I take it you want me to jump to a conclusion since you refuse to respond?". The smooth voice, and stinging words made the ninja's expression change slightly, again. Frowning slightly "what sort of conclusion?".
"Well, I cant say you'll enjoy it~"
"just say it. You never warn me about anything else, why should this be any different?"
"thats true~ This, however, may be harsher than those other--"
"idiot. I don't care. go on."
"mmmm......~" came an annoying noise from the mage. "Weeeellllll~"... why was he pausing so much? The answer came to Kurogane through Fay's voice. "Im trying to think of the best way to say it~". "Who cares?! Just hurry up and say it!" yelled the darker man. "Hyuu~ Kuro-wan is angry~" teased Fay. "Dont HYUU at me. Im not ANGRY. AND IM NOT A DOG EITHER!". The only response that got, was a light hearted laugh. "Stop laughing and tell me what your damn conclusion is!" Kurogane's eyes ran over Fay's body, appearing so delicate, elegant and fragile. He knew otherwise, as the mage's laughter died down. Putting down the kitten, next to Emo-chan he continued. "mmmm~ I think you like me more than your willing to admit~". Flustered, the ninja's cheeks went slightly pink.
"ahhhh~!!! Kuro-tan is blushing!" that was probably the worst thing to say at that point in time.
"I AM NOT!"
"awwww~ Kuro-rin is shyyyy~"
"SHUT UP!"
"I was right! Kuro-sama likeeessss me~ how much does Kuro-wan like me though~?" teasing, the mage quickly but gently, blew in Kurogane's ear. "GAH!!!" yelled the ninja as he grabbed his ear, face turning more red than pink. "aaah~! so cute!" Fay continued, he never truly knew WHEN to stop teasing...

XDD i know!!! i felt like this was getting to be an RP thing and imagined it being posted on the comm.. never doing that again XP this fic is so badly written LOL ""*dies*""

The situation facing kuro was getting even more perilous with each passing moment, not to mention embarrassing. Kuro glanced around twitching, as he assessed the gathering ring of people arriving in from the streets. Some displayed expressions of shock, some disapproval, and some had confusion across their faces. Especially the kids, of whom were staring blatantly with wide-eyed fascination. This was definitely not a most suitable place to be exchanging heartfelt confessions with the same sex. Kuro decided straightaway that it was time to leave, red Ero-chan or no red Ero-chan.

He grabbed Fai by the arm again ("Ow! Kuro-riiin that hand still huuuurtss!!...") and dragged him to the front door, which almost shattered under the force of the hand he pushed it open with.
Yells and curses, accompanied by a pattering of shoes on wood came from the direction of the store now getting further away from them. Kuro felt a lot better now that they were out in the open, fresh air and cool winds blowing across him as he ran. And dragged. As the heat from his face receeded, and referred to his normal tan complexion, he turned his attention to the spluttering, panting mage behind him. When he noticed Fai was trying to get something important out through the gasps, Kuro slowed to a walk and then stopped near an alley. Holding a stitch on his side, Fai bent over, gasping. The gasps then suddenly turned into giggles, and Kuro watched irritatibly as the mage cracked up laughing, the almost deserted street ringing with his rich, melodic vioce. The frown which had plastered itself to Kuro's face in the shop now grew even deeper and was starting to hurt the muscles over and between his eyes. Once the mage had satisfied himself laughing like a maniac, kuro snapped "And what the hell is so funny this time?"

Fai giggled again, and wiped almost-tears from the corners of his eyes. "Kuro-wan.!.. hahaa.. You got us into trouble again! You naughty doggy hahahaaa!!!~" Kuro stood, wracking his brain for what they have accidently left behind. Ero-chan was, but he had obviously done that deliberately... Fai breathed deeply, then switched to another one of his beaming, happy faces. "Kuro-nyan, you've forgotten to pay for Shirou-chan!~" The mage held up the white, wriggling kitten to the ninja's face. Kuro felt his stomach drop unpleasantly and groaned loudly to the skies. Ignoring the what the 'trouble' most probably meant for the both of them, Fai twirled around, swinging the newly-dubbed Shirou-chan in the air, giggling excitedly again. "I was thinking of maybe calling him Yuki, but i think Shirou-chan would go SO WELL with Kuro-pon, don't you think??" He grinned mischieviously at the dark, disdraught figure leaning aginst the walls of a nearby building.

(LOL! I dont think anyone would understand it if we posted it. xD;;; but hey, its ment for fun and humor~ by the way xD Shiro is the name of my puppy~ ::snicker:: )

Kurogane didn't respond fully to the mage's light hearted question. He was slowly growing used to his antics anyway. Instead, he watched the blonde as he played with the kitten happily. Yes, this was a much better friend for Fay. It was a good thing he had left that damn red thing behind. Who really cares if they just stole the kitten? Maybe the seirzurific demon they left behind would be payment enough.
It was Fay's voice that interupted Kurogane's thoughts. "Kuro-tan?" he started, "you never answered my question..~". The ninja raised an eyebrow, "what question was what?". "well, I did jump to a conclusion and I was apparently right! You like me~ I just want to know how much?". Was this a trick? it sounded like one. The blonde had a thing for tricking others, than again, isnt that what a magician is suppose to do? Play games with your mind, tick you, just for a smile or a laugh? For entertainment. Well, that was ONE type of magician.
Kurogane stayed silent. "awwww~ Kuro-rin! Please tell me~? I wont laugh or anything~! promise~". "your promises arent worth anything" grumbled the ninja. "ooh~? and why not~?".
"because of who you are."
"than who am I~?"
"stupid. I ment that you've never said a thing about yourself. I've never seen any other emotion from you than joy. All you are, all you do... its a lie."
The mage was a little bit surprised to hear this, especially from Kurogane. The ninja continued though "you wear a mask. I want so see through it. I want to know why.". "Do you trust me?" asked the mage. It was so quiet in the ally, you could hear the wind blow up and down through it. "I do my best to.".
"than, how can you like me?" The smile never left Fay's face. Kurogane looked away a little "because its something I've felt for a long while now.". This confused the mage slightly, but he pressed for a real answer "still... how much do you like me~? You know I'll find out one way or another~". Was that a threat?? no. couldn't have been. Just a playful guesture. Stupid mage. "a lot." grumbled the ninja, bairly heard.
"what was that~?"
"I SAID A LOT, OKAY?! stupid damn mage." growled Kurogane.
"and how~?"
"WHATS WITH ALL THE QUESTIONS?!"
"Hyuuuuu~ Im just curious~"
"well its NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS." Kurogane stopped, realizing.. that made NO SENSE. It WAS Fay's business to an extent. Fay paused and burst out laughing "Kuro-myuu~ it is my business~ so come on~ tell me!". Shiro-chan on his shoulder, he tugged at Kurogane's pj-top. "I don't feel like talking about that now!" Kurogane shot at him. Thank goodness for the darkness of the ally, the mage couldn't see Kurogane's slight blush he had had this entire time. Fay laughed, and was about to keep pressing Kurogane but instead felt a shiver of cold air go down his spine. brrr~ it was COLD and they were still in their pjs... in a dark ally!?

( ews, mines sucked xD;!!)

Awww u called ur dog Shiro? that's so cute!!! I had a puppy called Joey but then i had to give him away...
*Btw, ur really fast replying to this fic o_o sry for taking so long... T^T*

Scrunched up candy wrappers and dented cans flew past Kuro's ankles, out onto the street. A wayward apple core smacked Fai in the face, leaving a spluttering, flailing mage behind as it was sent on its way again by another sudden blast of wind. Kuro glared around, alert for the source of this annoying wind. With the mage coughing and complaining at the top of his voice in the background, Kuro tried not to let his patience with the day's events run thin. As if 'the cat' knew how absolutely frustrated he was at the moment, it's entire demeanor changed. For apparently no reason whatsoever, it started hissing and yowling, claws sinking into the thin fabric of the mage's cotton shirt. Fai yelled painfully. "OOowwwwwww!! Shiro-chan! Stop it, it's only wind!!" Suspiscious, Kuro stepped cautiously between the tall brick buildings and squinted against the oncoming wind, trying to see through the roar of dust, dirt and garbage rushing towards his face.

Curses were carried by the rush of wind towards the mage, who wisely chose to step further /away/ from the alley than /towards/ it, unlike silly ninjas whom he personally thought, was trying to compensate for the earlier confession by proving his musculinity and bravery. Again. Fai sighed. Shiro-chan was still hissing, but was unwilling to leave his shoulder, instead he clung to Fai's messy blond strands and fluffed himself up as big a furball as he could get. Now slightly concerned, Fai screened his eyes and shouted in Kuro's general direction "Kuro-pon!! Is everything all right? It's quite a windy day today in the alleys isn't it??"
Kuro gritted his teeth, and spoke in a low, carrying voice "Erghh.. Winds do not usually travel in places of their own choosing, damn mage.... Something must be causing it!" He growled loudly at his own misfortune. Fai giggled. "Now, now Kuro-nyan. We can't be growling at everything we don't like at first sight. It's not very good manners for a nice doggy, you know?" An ever louder, more threatening growl came with the wind this time. Fai pouted. "Kuro-pon! What did I say about your manners just /five/ seconds ago???"

"............. That wasn't me!" Kuro's yell came back with a new, stronger gust of wind. An ear-shattering roar filled the air. Fai found the alley growing darker, and Shirou-chan's screeches near his ear was deafening him, nevermind about the claws digging in deeper. From out of the shadowy alley of the tall buildings they just happened to be standing in, an unnaturally huge silhouette gradually took shape. The skies were blocked out, and Fai was left cold in it's wake, standing and staring in shock at the sight that met his eyes. The beast was taller than the buildings themselves, and he wondered dimly how they couldn't have noticed the thing tearing through the quiet streets of this world. Noxious gases spilled from it's gaping, dripping jaws filled with rows of teeth the size of Kuro's sword. Black fur covered the beast from head to long, swishing tail, and out of its own darkness a pair of luminous slitted pupils gleamed blood red. Just then, an arm slammed against his stomach, and the momentum pulled him away from the creature, though not out of the shadows.
"I think i know why the streets were empty when we arrived." Kuro spoke evenly into his ear, which tickled. "Lucky we left those two kids and the manjuu at the inn... But didn't you say there wasn't any magic here when we first arrived??"

Fai blinked, tearing himself from the view of the great beast and shook himself. "Yes, I'm sure of it. There's no magic here, but...." He paused a while, thinking. Then grinned happily into Kuro's face. "..that means we've found the feather! Hooray for Kuro-rin! You smart doggy!! You brought us to the very place that we were supposed to spend /weeks/ searching for! You must have good hunting abilities!" Kuro groaned and muttered. "Or just extremely bad luck..."
Fai glanced at Kuro purposefully. "Ahhh~ looks like we can't just run from this chance, don't you think?"
Kuro smirked, battle-lust glowing in his eyes. "Best thing you've said all day, mage"

-------------------- short, happy fight scene---------------------

A black, sooty puppy wagged it's tail, sniffing at Shiro-chan with curiousity. Kuro just stared. And groaned. "Of all the bloody animals in the world..... for the bloody feather to possess......." He looked over at Fai, suprised that the idiot hasn't started spraying his happiness seeds everywhere. The mage stood stock still, his weapon (a pole)held loosely with his left hand. Kuro waited. A gleam grew slowly in the mage's baby-blue eyes. Any minute now... Kuro counted down. A twitch from the corner of Fai's lips matured into a face=splitting grin. Any second... A deep, hearty breath of air was pulled into his lungs. Kuro growled softly, turned his back to Fai, and jabbed his fingers into his ears.
"KURO-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!<333333333~~ SHIRO-CHAN'S GOT A NEW FRIEEEND!!"

8DD I finished!!!! unless u wanna add something? This was SO MUCH FUN <3
