Links! Because other people explain it better:

A Copyright Quickie: Canada Is About To Pass Sopa’s Evil Little Brother. Politely. Canadian Coalition for Electronic Rights They have a form where you can send a letter to not only your own MP, but also to the PM, the moron who tabled it, and a bunch of other ministers (I'll admit I don't know them from Adam, but if bugging them makes them wake up a little, then good!).
Not Available in Canada (Yes, that's the name of the site, and yes, you can see the site in Canada. At least for now):
The DMCA and SOPA all rolled up into one Canadian bill C-11 A very good article that picks apart Bill C-11 (formerly C-32, like we wouldn't notice it's the same bloody thing!)
Another one from Dear They:
C-11 Form Letter I'll admit, I pretty much C&P this letter into the form from CCER's site and sent it with very few mods (and that was mostly formatting). Mostly because the last time I sent a message from the CCER site, my local MP emailed me back complaining that he's received so many emails with the same wording that he was just going to ignore the fact that he was getting enough of them to be getting annoyed in the first place, which should have been telling him something, IMHO. Argh. After I emailed him back expressing my personhood (no, I'm not a bot!) and again expressing my concerns this time in my own words (and at length!), he just wrote back saying it was just going to committee and he'd just wait and see what happened.
What was his job supposed to be again? Wasn't there something about representing the unwashed masses in there somewhere? Wasn't there?
Argh.
So. Sent the letters. Again. And hoping that others will too, and spread the word. Because apparently all the Big Companies ("BC") would have to do is hint that you might possibly have brushed against their stuff online and your ISP is forced to cut you off. Even if said BCs had no evidence, and filed no charges. This would be the end of the Internet as we know it.
Past time this was seriously kicked in the nuts. Er, butt. I meant butt. Really.
Not.
Pass it on. Please!
