I finally went ahead and had my hair all choppled off today. I donated my long lovely locks to locks of love. It ended up being about 18 inches, two ponytails worth of hair. When the lady whacked it off and laid the ponytails on the counter she said, "boy that's some red hair." I told her that my hair has tons of natural red highlights when I'm in the sun. I said the funny thing is if you put the ponytail on the top of my head and compare it to my scalp, it looks like two completely different people's hair since I don't get out much in the sun anymore. She put one on top of my head to just to see the difference, it was cute.
I had endlessly googled all sorts of short hairstyles this morning. Unfortunately, most of the hairstyle pictures were of waify-thin long-faced models, which does not help the more Botticelli-body rotund-faced everyday gals like myself. I ended up just giving her the directions of: it has to be wash and wear - I use no products and I don't blow-dry or style my hair. We ended up discussing a few options and went with no bangs, and lots of layers. For although my hair is baby fine, it is very numerous in individual hairs ie: pretty darn thick. It has always been an odd combination for me. Most people with baby fine hair also have do not usually have the volume of hair that I do. Sometimes this makes for awkward haircuts and is one of the reasons I have stayed away from cutting my hair so many times prior.
So, without further ado I present Pickle's hair, the before and after shots.
Obviously this is a before pic. My hair wasn't entirely dry or brushed, but you get the idea about it's length.
Here is my new do. It rests just above my shoulders and is so fun to bounce it around.
Oh my! I'm starting to look my age, but look how happy Pickle is with her face hugging hair.
Jamers decided that he too was going to remove hair today which has been long overdue. For whatever reason he didn't want to post in his journal, so here are his before and after shots.
