What would you do?
Friends,
You all know how much I love my furkids, and how I spent $$$$$ to keep them alive. I have an lj friend, who when they brought their new baby home from the hospital, one of his cats hissed and he and his wife ended up putting the cat down.
Now, I don't agree with what they did, but what is done is done. I made a comment about how I'm sure they did what they had to and how at least they have a little girl to help turn the saddness into love and laughter.
I've now had two people tell me how horrible I am. They are disgusted that I would even suggest that what they did was justified. How could a child replace a kitty, etc.
Can my lj friends tell me if what I said was wrong? I was of the thought that the last thing he and his wife needed to hear was that they messed up. I thought I was being supportive of them and keeping my personal feelings out of it. I would like any of you, my lj peeps, to tell me - Should I have berated them for what they did? Is that what people need to hear when they're in pain?
Can somebody tell me? I feel so pissed off that these people are taking out their anger against him on my response to his post.
