Can you hear it? There’s something out there in the back of the universe. Its docile tones lull the world into a rather passive resistance, and every seductive note that escapes into the world of the living is enough to bring kings to their knees in obedience. Is it crying? Or is it just singing? The eternal bliss as the warm sounds engulf you renders the question negligible, and you couldn’t be more content with ignorance.
Can you feel it? There’s something out there in the back of the universe. It tingles as it creeps upon you, crawling up the back of your heel; slowly navigating its way through your paralyzed spine. The attack of pins and needles is enough to make any scream for mercy, but no one will. As it vigorously crawls through your body it leaves kisses in all the right places, small bundles of joy to later be discovered, or opened on the spot, to deliver the victims soul to a promised momentary peace. It’s as this peace washes over your entire body, like a warm liquid seeping into every pore, that the scream is heard - and had the poor soul been more attentive, he may have took the time to wonder if it was his own.
Can you see it? There’s something out there in the back of the universe. Or perhaps it’s holding up the universe itself - bearing its overwhelming mass as its own. It radiates with a false light that is far too real to be genuine. The ever pulsating, ever glowing existence pleases the retina in every way imaginable, and even a few ways unimaginable. If the blinding light weren’t so distracting in its magnificence, perhaps he would have noticed the claws as they gleamed within the pulses of beauty. Maybe he would have seen the evil in its eyes as it seduced the universe within its grasp. Or maybe he did notice these things and just refused to acknowledge their existence. Its relevance is questionable, as the story ends the same way regardless. Just another body - floating out in space.
There’s something out there in the back of the universe, and it’s coming to get me.
