OotP Movie Review
There were some good parts -- it is Harry Potter after all -- and the slash was fun, but in all the movie was pretty terrible.
OMG huge disappointment!
I pretty much agree with everything else that has been said. The slash was fun, Remus/Sirius, Sirius/Harry, Snape/Harry, anyone? Ron/Hermione was cute, and Voldemort was fun as always. Otherwise, the movie was complete and utter shit.
Harry/Draco completely aside, the move was just plain terrible. It butchered the book, and was not well put together at all. Even if I don't compare to the books, I still can't get over how horrible the editing was. The lines were terrible, some of the acting was terrible, the hair/costumes/visuals were terrible, and the entire thing was just so disorganized that it gave me a headache!
What was with Sirius' death?!? Avada Kedavra?!?! Are you kidding me?!? Not to mention that people acted almost as if nothing had happened. Let me tell you, I cry at ANY movie. Hell, I cry at commercials on tv, but I barely managed to cry for Sirius. It was terrible. The only thing that made me cry was when we saw Remus afterwards! (OMG ANGST!) Harry didn't seem very upset about Sirius at all after the initial incident.
In all, it was more like reading the Spark Notes than watching a movie. It was definitely the worse of all 5 as far as I'm concerned. They better find someone good for HBP. I don't want them to ruin my favorite book.
