Introducing Kyou Kara Maou!
I'd like everyone to meet my newest fandom. Everyone, this is Kyou Kara Maou. Kyou Kara Maou, this is everyone.

I have never in my entire life been so into any anime. Most of them I got bored with before I ever even finished them. This one, I can't tear myself away from.
It is, of course, slash. It's actually very reminiscent of Harry/Draco, which is why it was recommended to me in the first place. I adore it! Yes, this is the same one that make me cry like a fool last night. ♥
At first I couldn't decide on a pairing. There was slash flying everywhere, and it was pretty messy. Finally, I decided to ship Yuuri/Wolfram (How could I have ever been unsure?), Konrad/Yozak, and Gwendel/Günter as a joke.
Now, since Yuuri/Wolfram, or Yuuram, has become such a huge ship to me, I am officially naming it my anime OTP. Note that it's only my anime OTP. My true OTP is still Harry/Draco. ♥
Meet Yuuram!
Now, I mentioned this was very Harry/Draco-esque. Well, in fact it's nearly the same, except for a little less hostility. Yuuri is the chosen savior of a world. He wants peace, and he protects innocents at all costs. He is a young, dark-haired halfblood. Wolfram is a blonde bitchy, spoiled, rich brat. He doesn't care about peace. He is pureblood, and very racist against anyone else. They start out hating each other. They fight like crazy; they even duel.
In addition to Yuuri and Wolfram (*squee*), there is another character who has a striking resembelence to a Harry Potter character. Gwendel = Snape. Well, he is fandom!Snape more than canon!Snape on account of his serious demeanor and secret love of all things cute.
I flitted around between pairings for a while, because like I said, there was so much slash flying around it was clouding my judgement. I paired Konrad/Yuuri, Yuuri/Wolfram, Gwendel/Yuuri, Yuuri/Günter, Gwendel/Konrad (deal with it!), Konrad/Wolfram, Gwendel/Wolfram, Gwendel/Günter, and Konrad/Yozak. Whew, I think that's all.
Eventually, Yuuri and Konrad stopped being slashy completely. Sure, they stare off into each others eyes occasionally and vow to never leave one another, but that's all in the name of platonic love. Obviously, the brother pairings were brought on by confusion, and I quickly realized that they aren't slashy either. Yuuri/Günter is still ridiculous, but mostly I just feel sorry for Günter. Eh, Gwendel can take his mind off Yuuri, and who knows, maybe Murata might help Günter out a little, too. Once Yozak showed up and started being around Konrad it was undeniable to me.
Obviously, Yuuri/Wolfram is to best of all. However, their UST is KILLING me. I need them to get together immediately. I'm past episode 50, and I just now got a little action in a bath but that ended in a fight. I need them to kiss! I need them to declare their love for each other! After all, they are engaged, and they do fight for each other. And Wolfram most definitely loves Yuuri. Yuuri just needs to wake up and smell the pheromones! Ack. They're engaged after all, they have an adopted daughter together. I'm nearly certain they actually will wind up married. Just freaking kiss already! ARGH!
Anyway, now you know what has kept me so intrigued lately. Oh, and the character that I was freaking out about last night was Konrad, but all is well. Except that whole spelling change. Konrad to Conrad and Yuuri to Yuri. I'm not ok with that. Although I find Yuuri's name to be ironic.

Oh, sidenote: One thing I'm not liking about this series is their habit of putting Wolfram in dresses. I do not enjoy dresses in my slash. Those damn pink nighties are about to drive me crazy. Effeminate!Wolfram is okay, but not drag!Wolfram.
