being a parent
last night i had my scare for the week. my oldest was at his boy scout leaders house. all was fine til i got a call from him in tears telling me that he was just stung by a scorpion. i felt sick to my stomach not knowing what was going on and if he was going to be okay. fortunately one of his leaders is a doctor and he explained what was going on and what to expect.
anthony told me that he said some bad swear words after he was stung (he also said he was sorry for that. how cute!!!). at this point he had calmed down and had a decent sense of humor. he told me he used the a,s,b and f word but he forgot the rest. he told me that one of the kids asked him what happened and he responded "i got stung by an fucking scorpion". omg. this all in front of his mormon leaders. i'm sure they'll send out an emergency group to save me soon enough. lol
needless to say i stayed up for the entire 6 hours watching over him for signs that would mean i needed to rush him to the emergency room. fortunately it wasn't neccesary. today he is fine. his hand is still numb which to him is just more of an annoyance but i was warned to expect that for awhile yet.
