So, if it wasn't official before (which it was) it sure as hell is now (even though it already was!). I love Castle. This show cracks me up. The characters are solid, the interactions are hilarious (watching them sneak = best thing ever = like sneaky ducklings!), the women are refreshingly strong and I adore watching Nathan Fillion make ridiculous jokes.
Now don't get me wrong, the show has the emotional depth of a pancake. Maybe a crepe. Beckett's house was blown up, BLOWN UP WHILE SHE WAS IN THE HOUSE, all her belongings destroyed, and the emotional fall-out we deal with is "wow, thank goodness I jumped into that bathtub. While naked. heh. Naked." yes, I am serious, no, the fact that her apartment blew up has not been mentioned since, yes, I am incredibly unimpressed by that as I do love me some good ole angst (although if Criminal Minds got any more angst it would EXPLODE INTO ANGSTY SPARKLES OF SORROW and I just gave up. Plus, serial killers = creepy = not fun before bed).
But this show actually makes me laugh out loud, which is not a reaction often elicited. It does a good job of introducing enough characters per episode that you don't automatically know who the villain is because you've only met two people and one of them is the misleadingly obvious choice so of course it is the random other person (CSI, I am looking at YOU right now). So dear television, I am entertained. Good job.
