First and foremost, I would like to announce that I got me a shiny new car! Well, it's new to me, anyway. It's a 2010 Mazda 3, just the vehicle I had been eying for a while. Sadly, though this is a triumphant announcement, it came at a price.
Tuesday morning, my previous car, my (usually) trusty Mazda Protoge, up and croaked on the way to work. But for the intervention of my father and a helpful coworker who happened to be passing through, I'd have been stranded on I-35 in the bitter cold.* After work, and after having the battery charged, my father and I returned to the car. We installed it and it sprang to life!
...for a time.
It died again on the way home. We ended up having to tow it.
Spent the week carpooling.
But yesterday, I came home with a gorgeous new ride. So now, it's all better.

* Strangely enough, almost every time I have been stranded on the highway, it's been on I-35.
