As the title implies, this blog posting features pictures of stuff. "What kind of stuff?" you might ask. "I'll show you," I would reply, had you actually asked the previously mentioned question.
I got a gift card from my brother and his family for my birthday this past October. So, what did I do with it? I purchased this book:
Written by
John Little,
The Warrior Within is an effort to take Bruce Lee's instruction, interviews, and personal writings and codify them into a unified philosophical treatise on assorted topics. It covers everything from training, motivation, and family to overcoming obstacles, racism, and friendship. It's a great addition to the library of any Bruce Lee enthusiast. Other good choices include
The Tao of Jeet Kune Do and
The Art of Expressing the Human Body.
I've been pondering whether I wanted to pick this game up. I love
Settlers of Catan, and have made no secret of it. But I wasn't sure if I wanted to shell out the bucks for a Star Trek flavored version of the exact same thing. Well, it turns out that there are some extra additions. There are special character cards that give you support abilities (force a trade, immunity from the Klingons [bandit], move a starship [road], and so on). These cards take the form of characters, including the Enterprise bridge crew and major recurring characters.
Last, but certainly not least, I received this painting as a gift from my friend Sheryll. Painting is one of the many creative outlets she has taken up in the past few years, and there are periods when she's been quite prolific at it. She prefers seascapes, and has a fondness for lighthouses.
Coincidentally, this color palette matches the color scheme that I've been decking out my bathroom in.
