I would agree but ive got some 15km race near the end of April, it becomes unfun when you have to train by doing 10 mile runs.
I spend the entire next day at work asleep, moaning about my falling apart body and have acquired feet shrek would be proud of.
Tunes!!! Essential for surviving running. Gangsta Rap goes down a treat, its rhythmic to keep you flowing and aggressive to keep you psyched up, try some Wu-Tang Clan, Capone, 50 Cent. I also throw in a couple of motivators in the play list just to make you shift it: Prodigy - Hot Ride, Rocky - Eye of The Tiger (obvious but it works), Metallica - Wastin My Hate, Limp BizKit -Take a look around (MI theme).
I quite like the rain too, keeps you cool and makes you feel like your 'ard, i also like running past pubs and looking at the unhealthy people
