Hello! It's me again. I know nobody but my sister is really reading this, but I figured I'd give an update anyway. Oh, and thank you to my sister for actually taking the time to read this. It is much appreciated. Anywho, things have improved slightly since my last update. I ended up going to the hospital that night because Emergency Services called and ambulance on me. That bites. I got out of the emergency room around 2:45 in the morning and went home (with the help of my dad.) Although I am still having a hard time, I am feeling a little better. I am definetly going to mention the problem of getting my meds at the residence Gemini House to my therapist today when I see her, as they went away again yesterday and didn't tell me. They claimed the other night that they would try to inform people the day before if they are going out, but the didn't, and this doesn't work for me. Unfortunately, there aren't any other things we can do med-wise. I can't hold on to my meds because if I did, I'd be either dead, or preparing to commit suicide. I know that's not pleasent to hear, but it is the way it is. That is why the meds are planned the way they are. I told the Gemini House staff that I would probably be back before my appointment today for an as-needed medication, so I'll be really steamed if they aren't there. I understand that they go out sometimes, which is only reasonable, but they could at least give some warning to the many people who come there to get medication. Although I do understand, having them be gone at all, causing me to be unable to get as-needed meds is very aggravating. I hear that the team of people (HOT team) who has been delivering meds on the weekend to people who frequent the medication clinic during the week will no longer be doing that. I know they also delivered meds during the week to some clients, though I don't know why. With that service cut out, I imagine that Gemini House and other residences will have more non-residence people to give meds to. Don't know how that's gonna work with them going out on trips. I should point out that I use the Gemini House residence because it is VERY close to my apartment and the others are pretty far away, so switching residences isn't really an option. Walking to Gemini House is a breeze. It's just about a block from my front door on streets that are fairly well lit. I do hold my keys so that I can use them as a weapon at night if necessary, but I usually don't go out too late. They stop doing meds at midnight anyways and don't start up again until 6 in the morning. I finally found this out after being told that they a) didn't stop at all and b) stopped at 11 at night. I found out that c) they stop at midnight, only when I asked the staff at the house. I would have thought that the doctor and the HOT team would know when the medications begin and end, but alas, they did not. The HOT team is still doing their main job of taking people out on a one-on-one basis to do things like shopping or just getting coffee. I went out yesterday with my new HOT team worker(my old one, whom I really liked, moved to PA.) We dropped off my Blockbuster movies, got me a new watch(the old one broke :(,) went to KFC and ate at the park. Not bad for under and hour and a half. It's supposed to be 1-3 hours 2-3 times a week, but I think I've only had a 3 hour one once, and that was because we lost track of time. It may not even have been three hours, but it was pretty long. Three times a week has only happened once or twice too, and I've been in this program for at least eight months. I just chock it up to the fact that they're very busy, have many clients, and are understaffed right now. Hopefully, now that they aren't doing meds, they will have more time. They are also supposed to be hiring new people. I hope they hire a male, because I work better with males. My old guy was a male and the only other male is transferring soon, so there won't be any males whatsoever. If they get a new male soon, before I start to really like the girl I'm working with now, I'll definetly switch.
Well, I don't want to bore everybody to death any more than I have, so I'll leave it at that. I just wanted to give an update, since my last entry was so bleak. Laters!
