So I don't even know when my last real update was, and am currently too lazy to check. I still live in Colorado, doing the grad school thing. Now that I'm getting more into research, I'm realizing that this isnt really what I want to do. At least not this kind of research, where I sit in front of a computer all day trying to figure out why hundreds of lines of code don't work. If I'm going to do research, I want to be out in the field, releasing instruments and collecting data. So Ive decided to take/sit in on a few extra classes so when I'm done wiht my MS I'll be more marketable. At this point I think I'd even rather be *gasp!* forecasting.
I've been spending a lot of time hanging out with various local bands, including the standard Champagne Breakfast, and my friend Ang has introduced me to The Piggies and Until We Wake, and I'm sure I'll start meeting even more people. I've been taking pictures for CB and have talked to the Piggies about doing it for them too, so you know, I'm working on another viable career option. I've also of course been going to a lot of shows. So far this summer I've seen Nine Inch Nails, Tom Petty and Pearl Jam, and the RX Bandits. When my parents get here in a few weeks we're going to see The James Gang, whom I'm sure you've never heard of, and this Saturday I'll be purchasing tickets to TOOL!!!! Thats super exciting. Then in September I'm going to Montana on part of CB's tour.
In May I moved from one side of town to another, so if you need to mail me something, message me and I'll get you the new address. The new apt is definately cooler and comes partially furnished with leather couches. Yay!
Still single, although I've broken off two engagements in the past 6 months. Its a silly story. Ask if you really care. Boys are dumb. Throw rocks at them.
Last week, after spending 22 years of my life living in Pennsylvania, I hit a deer in Fort Collins. In the fucking CITY of Fort Collins. Fortunately, I wasnt speeding cuz I was in an area where the cops like to be, and the majority of the damage i was able to fix myself. The only thing i cant take care of is a piece of cracked plastic, which I cant even prove is from the deer. For all I know, a rock kicked up off the highway and cracked it.
I guess thats all...my life isnt particularly fascinating. I've gotten into a nice groove here, and except for hating my job, life is pretty good. i have a feeling in August when I start having classes again to break up the monotany, It will get a little bit better.
Peace.
