Not only am I smiling on the outside, but I'm smiling on the inside too. I am not always able to say that. An unexpected conversation tonight reminded me just how far I've come...
This internship is absolutely amazing. I was so sad to wake up this morning and realize that I had a day off (I went to the Bronx Zoo!) I can't believe I've only been doing this for two days. My dream of becoming a Rabbi seems like it can actually be a reality. I want to make a difference in the world. I want to connect with all types of people, and help them realize how enriching it is to live a Jewish life. I love being constantly challenged, having to respond to different situations at any time of the day or night. I want to help others discover how meaningful prayer can be, and how important it is to continue to learn. I am most thankful because this internship has given me the opportunity to develop a relationship with a mentor I respect and admire.
Tomorrow night I am helping to lead services and give the d'var torah at beth haverim. I hope you'll join me.
