Not My Kind of Feast

I have yet to be impressed by the hospitality of this shadow land. First we're set upon by giants and wraiths in the misty woods, then we stumble across a pile of ruins only to find ourselves surrounded by rotting corpses intent on devouring us. How very discourteous of them, I must say. I would have expected at least a "please, sir, might I chew ( Read more... )

Once upon a time Vondal used to write in his journal too. I guess he doesn't now because of the arthritis. Hits those dwarves young, you see, sometimes in their early 200's. Not sure how old Vondal actually is but he sure acts about 200 some days.

Anyway, he used to write up the big hits, the major sucks, and give points for style on a game-by-game basis. In his absence, I shall do my best to provide some highlights:

Golden Dice Award:
Enna - In one round, rolled an attack for a moderate amount of damage (35 or so), then made another attack and got a crit for 40 damage, and used some special power or an action point or something to roll ANOTHER attack, and got a crit on that too, for a further 41 damage. Stacked up about 115 damage on the dude in one round. Mean.

Rotten Dice:
Lance (DM) as usual - Rolling saves against my Symphony of the Dark Court, which I had used to Daze four of the ghouls, he managed to not roll anything higher than a 5 for all four of them for at least 2 rounds in a row before even one of them saved. There was at least one still Dazed about 4 rounds later when we finished the last of the bastards off.

Vandal of the Week Award:
Harkill - almost every power Harkill used when he was in the middle of that swarm of ghouls was fire or thunder, and I reckon that by the time we were done those ruins must have gone from looking like they had just gotten tired and fallen down to looking like they must have been shredded by a Howitzer, whatever a Howitzer is.

Point of Awesome:
These ghouls had powers named after my own heart: "Dinner is Served", for one. "Feeding Frenzy" was another, but Dinner is Served (as the damn thing grabs and bites and starts doing 3d10+ damage) has to be the best power name ever. EVER.
