Romeo x Juliet Japanese DVDs: -1-

Jul 01, 2007 22:59

Hello, everyone! I came with sweet news from official site for hardcore RomeJuli lovers. =)
Those are about japanese DVDs, which may be hard to get outside Japan yet they are worth it.
I know something about DVDs has been posted already, I just want to post new images and info as well as cleared old one. :D

(Wanna know more? Press me!)

(Usual note for those cases: that those are in Region 2 so you will need a DVD-player / DVD-drive with this regional code or without regional codes at all).

First of all, sorry for my English, it's not my first language.

The first (out of eight) DVDs is going to be released at the 27th of July.
Regular edition will contain a usual DVD in amaray-like box, 3 episodes are recorded on it. (for those of you who do not know, it's usual thing for TV series to be released on DVD-5.) Also, it contains audiocommentaries, which is a rare thing for japanese anime TV (for first volume AC features Romeo and Juliet seiyuu, director and one of producers. We know, that on second or third volume, Antiono's seiyuu will join the party. For volumes 1-2 ACs are already recorded). Every and each volume contains a booklet.

The most interesting thing begins when it comes to so-called "first print benefits". Awful, but usual practice in Japan.
Those who will buy first press  premium editions are happy.
Because on top of regular edition they'll get:
A special bonus DVD featuring:
  • Creditless opening and ending sequences
  • 2 promotional trailers (those that we see on the website, I believe)
  • Promotional TV "documentary" "Preludio to Revolution" (kakumei no preludio) (also avalible on the website in flash video format)
  • 2 video recordings from official Gonzo events related to RxJ
Postcards are included in first press edition, as well as outer box for this volume featuring new beautiful art.

Some notes from production blog of official website:
  • They're often talk about some "retakes". I have no idea at all what this can mean but I really want to hope that those are corrections of awfully drawn scenes in RxJ TV version, which are plentiful - in episodes 2 and 5 they are especially bad. But those "retakes" are also done with... opening sequence, creditless one especially. What are those retakes I really have no idea yet.
  • DVDs are going to be printed on the next week if everything will be going all right.
First volume costs about 7000 yen. (which is around 63 USD)

If new information about DVDs in various regions - R2; R1 and R5 will be found, I will try to inform you.
See ya!
