This was written after we became a four piece, everyone influenced this one. The song has a straight forward verse/ chorus format. The bass comes from the Korg M3R which is made of layered Moog sounds, which is nice and fat. Its playing 8th note through out the track with variations for the verse and chorus. There is a simple drum line from the Alesis DM4. The cool thing is Marty came up with a very tribal drum line to go on top of the sequence. We wanted the acoustic drums and the sequenced one to work together to make a wall of sound. I added a bunch of noisy percussion samples from the TX81Z and the Emu Morpheaus plays a breathy percussion sound. To top all this off there is a random sample of a radio quickly changing stations. The guitar follows the bass but Chris did changes to this that added some depth to the guitars as we weren't playing the same thing all the time. In the chorus there is a pad, I learned to correctly layer these in. Guitar takes up so much space in a mix that you have to move thing around a bit, even if it might sound a bit strange on its own. The complete radio sample is played. We ran this though a leslie cab, the speaker rotates to give a unique choirs effect. Chris is singing very clearly on this, Brandon, the producer, would work with Chris and got the best out of him.
WE played this live a lot, it came across like thunder and was fun as hell to play.
