Electric Blue
Cary has finally come to my rescue. In modern times it's more of a white aeroplane than it is a white stallion. And instead of a sword I believe he was weilding a hand full of daisies.
After Keri and Chelsea left my evenings had become rather dull. Liv was working on the set most of the time and Rob was nearly just as depressed as I was. He would sit in a chair in the corner and play his guitar while singing. He has an amazing voice. Tempered and smooth, like no other musician I've even heard. Often times I lie on the couch just listening to him strumming away and singing with a melodic empathy. The next thing I knew I'd be woken up by Liv coming in the door. The cats and Rob howling her a greeting. Then we'd all sit down to dinner together, talk about our day and laugh. Then Rob would whisk her away to the bedroom and I'd be alone again. Wishing someone would whisk me away. Grabbing the ear plugs and reading a book. (yes you two are loud!)
One of the lonely afternoons I got curious as Rob troubled over the same chord. I sat beside him and asked him to teach me a song. He set down his acoustic and took out his bass, placing it in my lap. He pulled the belt over my shoulder and I felt like a rock Goddess. He then said, I'm going to teach a you a simple three cord repeat and I want you to practice it and play it like a continuous thread. He showed me the proper fingering and I began playing for the first time. When I became clever at it, he picked up the aquoustic and began playing the guitar riffs to the song. It all came together nicely when I sang the words.
Cary arrived and we spent the last few glorious days together in the way that he described. And then Last night I sat him down on the floor before me and took out the bass. I began playing the chords just as I had been taught, and watched Cary's eyes light up as he recognized the song. Rob started in with Guitar and I sang the words to this song and dedicated it to You (changing the words from she to he of course)

And threw his arms around my neck

Spinning on that dizzy edge
I kissed his face and kissed his head
