OMG.
Oh holy God, I am SO FREAKING GLAD I no longer live at my parents' in my hometown of Thornhill, because this would've been visible from my balcony today:
The Toronto Star had a story on it on it's website... I'd heard there were funnel clouds in the GTA, including some close to downtown, this afternoon at work... But wow. In that article, the area they mention was full of funnel clouds this afternoon, "between Highway 7 and Highway 401"? That's where I grew up. And this one was east of my parents', but was within a range I know I could've seen, because the Markham Civic Center is close by where this is, and we saw the fireworks from there every year on Canada Day plainly. Actually, that picture is basically right where my aunt lives.
God, tornadoes scare the crap outta me! And this is the second storm we've had in the space of a week where there's been hail and funnel clouds in Thornhill. My mom and I were talking about this on Sunday...when I was growing up, there'd be funnel clouds almost every summer (although none with actual HOOKS as big as this one...just swirly cloud masses with the occasional tiny nub at the bottom) and hail, too...and it's been years since the last time they had that kind of storm. Crazy.
Anyways...lol, on that note, back to my all-nighter... Got a HUGE ton of schoolwork to finish up before my final class tomorrow, yes I left it 'til the last minute, not on purpose lol... I'll get it all done, it's just that I have to forego sleep (and work all day tomorrow PLUS go to school!) to do it...! I tried to work on it this morning but it's all creative stuff...I'm too much of a night owl, I can only write late at night. Gah. :)
