I almost walked off the job today. I rarely get that incensed over
work-related matters. I try to stay out of politics, get along with
everyone, get to work on time every time and not call in sick unless
I'm sick. I give all this dedication to my job because I like it.
I HATE the owners, however.
Wanting to take a 30-minute lunch is perfectly acceptable and part of
my legal rights, is it not? Apparently, I was being greedy, and because
I made a fuss all of my shifts now and just long enough for them to get
a lot of work out of me, but short enough where they don't legally have
to give me a lunch.
I'm hypoglycemic. That means my blood sugar does nasty things if I
don't keep food in my stomach at all times and eat frequently. Seven
hours is a long time for me to go without food.
Fuck rules. I just want a sandwich damnit.
No matter how upset or depressed or angry I get, there's always this
one song that calms me down. I have to sing along (rather badly to be
honest) to it for it to take full effect though.
Thank you Patsy Cline. You're one kick ass retro diva.
If you haven't heard this song, go listen. You may not like the style
or think it's too old, but you have to appreciate the pipes this woman
has. Her voice can make me cry.
Walkin' After Midnight
I go out walkin' after midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
I'm always walkin' after midnight, searchin' for you
I walk for miles along the highway
Well, that's just my way
Of sayin' I love you
I'm always walkin' after midnight, searchin' for you
CHORUS:
I stop to see a weepin' willow
Cryin' on his pillow
Maybe he's cryin' for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night winds whisper to me
I'm lonesome as I can be
I go out walkin' after midnight
Out in the starlight
Just hopin' you may be
Somewhere a-walkin' after midnight, searchin' for me
REPEAT CHORUS
REPEAT LAST VERSE
What song gets to you like this? Seriously. I want to know.
