makeyourlist: 29.1. A list of guarantees.

Jun 25, 2008 01:51

- Life goes on, whether we like it or not, and whether we are ready or not.
- It never stops.
- What doesn't kill us makes us stronger.
- My loved ones will always come first.
- Goes along with the previous one, but: There is nothing I wouldn't do for them.
- Chocolate is almost always the solution. At least one of them.

all time lines, makeyourlist

You, sir, are no longer allowed near fortune cookies. If this is what you impart to your children, I fear for our future generations.

OOC: Dear Remus, stop annoying Lucius. <3 his headmates.

...I actually didn't think it was that bad.

But these are guarantees I personally know. Not necessarily what I want to teach my children.

ooc: What better way to annoy Heim than to get LUCIUS annoyed? ;)

So you believe them. And what would you tell your children? You can change the world? If you have enough 'heart'?

Mr Malfoy, with all due respect, we both have very different styles of parenting. Just because you may not agree with mine, it does not mean that it is necessarily wrong. The same can be said about what I think.

But, nonetheless: Why would it be wrong if I give them that impression? Children are filled with endless possibilities. If they believe enough that they have the ability to change world, chances are they do so. In fact, they already do so by merely existing.

I don't believe in due respect, especially not from people like you, so you don't have to indulge in it. It will save us a lot of time and meaninglessly words.

Because if you do, and you don't believe it to be true, wouldn't you be lying to them? The world will do that enough, will it not? Do they need that at home to?

I am not attacking you. I'm...curious.

I need to ask this because otherwise I will overthink it, and frankly I am already doing so with other things as it is. I have never understood that. "From people like you"?

Just because I did not mention it on the list it does mean I do not believe in that statement. And, like I said, what I listed is what applies to myself. Not necessarily what I teach my children.

"From people like you." It means I'm implying that I believe you are beneath me.

So you don't even know what you think, do you?

Ah.

If my statement is true? No. I do not know. But just because it does not apply to me it does not mean I have not seen it happen to someone else and therefore I believe that my children are capable of the same.

*the same expression of half-disappointment*

Ah. Very well.

*catches the expression and raises an eyebrow slightly*

Something wrong, Mr Malfoy?

Not at all. If anything you proved your list. I thank you.
