One of Molly Lu's favorite things to do was build towers of blocks with her father. Not that she didn't love whatever they got to do, but playing with blocks was something that she liked to do only with him. Sitting on his lap while they made the towers grow bigger and bigger made her feel safe, even when the towers would topple forward and the blocks would scatter throughout the room. Instead of shrieking she would giggle and even clap before reaching for the blocks again so they could continue.
The Potter Princess needed her castle, after all. A castle needed needed towers, and her daddy was more than willing to build them for her. At two years old tales of how he would even get dragons to help keep her safe sounded like the bedtime stories she would hear, which made her even happier.
Just as she was about to pass another block so that Harry could place it at the very top of their new masterpiece, the tune of a song she had seen her parents dance to earlier made her perk up. That was something else she liked about tower-building; they would listen to music and she could bop along so she could show Harry how she could dance.
Sure enough, now she did just that.
Harry grinned as he watched her. It was hard not to, especially when she returned his grin once she looked up at him.
"Dance, Daddy? Please?"
Just when he thought his grin couldn't grow any more, he was easily proven wrong as he heard the way his daughter asked and how the way she said 'please' sounded more like 'peas.' "I would love to, baby."
Molly Lu raised her arms, and at once Harry scooped her up before standing as the song continued playing.
Here's a little song I wrote,
you might want to sing it note for note,
don't worry, be happy In every life we have some trouble,
when you worry you make it double
don't worry, be happy
As soon as she heard Harry singing under his breath while they swayed along with the music, Molly Lu giggled.
This was much better than tower building, she decided, and she was delighted to see that Daddy looked like he very much agreed.
Now there this song I wrote
I hope you you learned it note for note
like good little children
Dont worry, be happy
Listen to what I say
in your life expect some trouble
when you worry you make it double
dont worry be happy
be happy now
Beaming up at him, Molly Lu touched his cheeks as if to help him smile even more than what he already was.
"Dun worry," she sang along, "be happy!"
Harry laughed and pressed a kiss against her forehead as he continued dancing with her. With his family, being happy was already a given.
