RotM: Morning Deliveries

Nov 07, 2007 14:50

Although the prompt is for realmofthemuse, the response is really for any version of Remus.

1.81.3. If, like milk or the newspaper, you could have just one thing delivered to your doorstep each morning, what item would you want and why?

Heh, just one thing? Anything I want?

Chocolate. Plenty of it; enough to last throughout the day.

Anyone that knows me can say that that is a rather predictable answer coming from me but I cannot really think of anything else that I would like to have delivered. As to why... Do I really need a reason? It's chocolate. Who doesn't like chocolate, or would like to have it delivered at their doorstep every morning? I certainly would. I cannot go a few hours, let alone a day, without having some at some point or another. It doesn't have to be a lot to get rid of that 'need'; it can be just a small taste and I'm content enough with that.

I don't know when my...addiction, I suppose you can say, fully started. I became aware of it a few months after I was turned into a werewolf, because it was the only thing that could take away the taste of the potions all the healers gave me to try and 'cure' me, but I had already been quite fond of chocolate nonetheless. But whenever I was ill, which was often throughout the years I was experimented on following my encounter with Fenrir, chocolate was really the only comforting thing I had. It was my parents' way of trying to soothe me and making me feel better with a treat following some treatment or another that they hoped would be the cure I needed.

Now, I simply cannot live without it. I was not cured, but I ended up with a very deep love for chocolate. And, in turn, I tend to offer chocolate whenever someone needs comfort because it is the best way I know how when words are simply not enough.

So, yes. Chocolate being delivered every morning would be wonderful. Maybe one day Honeydukes will be able to offer that service; I would be quite happy and it would save me plenty of trips to Hogsmeade for it.

rotm prompt, all time lines, chocolate
