23 - Grinch
Seth-Ryan time. Written for theoc_fiction advent challenge. Post-finale. 167 words.
“Do you think I’m an emotionally unavailable loner?” Ryan asks as he plops down on the couch next to Seth, prompting him to pause the DVD he’d been watching with their little sister.
“Hm,” Seth ponders thoughtfully. “Yes,” he starts, shuffling Sophie around in his lap while her blue eyes remain glued to the green creature on the television screen. Ryan glares at him. “But it could be a lot worse.”
“Thanks,” Ryan says sarcastically.
“Seriously,” Seth says. “Just look at this guy,” he adds, nodding to the television screen.
“Gwinch,” Sophie says, pointing.
“Now he’s a real emotionally unavailable loner,” Seth says playing the DVD once again. “He’s probably never even been laid. At least you have been. And more times than this green guy could ever imagine. Although, that’s not really surprising considering who you’re dating. Maybe you should just apologize…”
“Shhh,” Ryan hushes. “I haven’t seen this in ages.”
“Since last Christmas,” Seth says quietly, feeling the need to get the last word in.
