Hopkins / Tarver fight
Ha! Ha! I'm glad my Phila. boy, Bernard Hopkins beat that big mouth Tarver. Usually, who ever runs their mouth the most, loses. As usual, our friend Courtney was over for the fight on HBO. It seems to always work out that there's a pay per view fight when he comes to visit. The fight didn't end until about 12:10 AM. Courtney had to be on a flight by 8AM in Tampa! I had to get up for work a lot later than he had to. I was dead at work today, so he must have really been dead! I'm sure he slept on the plane, but.... He had 12 hours of traveling to look forward to. He was in town for 20 hours. What a trooper; all to help Betty buy a new car. She got a 2006 Honda Accord. 2 door, V6, spoiler, the works. LOL, we told her she needed to get spinner rims for it!
Work was slow today. We got some wind and rain from Alberto, the tropical storm. Not enough rain, but the surf was up. The Coasties didn't have one of their ships secured, and it damaged the pier. I thought we were in "lock down" when they said they had to close the gate to our base. Nah, they just needed to borrow the gate keeper, lol. Sat. they went into lock down mode because 2 kids had stolen a car near the base. There were helicopters chasing them, and police cars. I guess the base decided to close the gate and put the barricades up so they wouldn't drive in. At least it's been semi-exciting the past few days.
Omri, from Israel called me Sat., but I was at work. They are 7 hours ahead of us. He will get out of the Army in November. I am so thankful he hasn't been injured. I can't believe so much time has gone by. Time flies even when you're not having fun.
