That's dear; I like that Winry knows her own mind so well (you record that with great consistency), and I especially like that she has work of her own to attend to. She comes across as being very pro-her own ability to do things, and it doesn't mean she loves him any less.

(I also like that she is unembarrassed; this is also true to her character, as pretty much demonstrated in canon.)

(You've catching me at my worst: blahblah talkin' 'bout female characterization + parentheses.)

Never feel bad for rambling about Winry's characterization! I say this as a preemptive measure, since that's what I'm about to do. :)

One of the best things about Winry to me is that she does know exactly what she wants - whether it's becoming an automail expert at a ridiculously young age or understanding her feelings for Ed - and then puts her all into achieving it. She finds nothing difficult about reconciling those two major parts of her life, and I love that moment at the end where she sees Ed go off to who-knows-where and yet easily offers him her entire life before he goes.

So, um, I like to (perhaps overly?) emphasize that completely self-aware part of her when I write her. Glad it's come across! And now I have to apologize for throwing this long thing at you in response. Thank you for reading the fic and my nattering. ^_^
