...I went...*gasp*...shopping. It was my type of shopping, however: I know what I want, I go to the store where I can get it, I get it, I go home.
I plotted out my course to minimize backtracking (which failed when I got an "idea" later), but had I ignored myself, it would've worked.
Wal-Mart was my first victim. Main item: foreign plugin adapters. Woo. I also found a cheap three-pack of those energy-efficient fluorescent(?) bulbs. I replaced two in my most-often-used lamps, and I'll probably replace the last lamp even though I rarely use it. I really should replace the 150 W bulbs above my bathroom mirror, but there are five of them and that would probably cost an arm and a leg. I'll have to check prices.
Mom sent an ad about a tennis shoe sale at Kohl's due to my usual "work" shoes beginning to suffer from holes and parts of the soles coming off. I'm perfectly happy with my work shoes; they still do their job, they're still wearable, and no one at work cares. But heaven forbid I don't have a pair of "good" shoes, so off I went. (I don't feel strongly enough about this subject to put up with the incessant arguing that would inevitably occur if I did not get a new pair of shoes in the near future. And let's also ignore that I won't be wearing tennis shoes for much longer anyway since it's already in the 90s here.) The only shoes left in my size were pukable colors or white (bad for the desert).
Off to the mall we go, we go. Sears had some neat laceless ones, so after way too much deliberating on size (I'm between an 8.5 and a 9.0, it seems--I'm sure anyone watching the security videos was laughing his butt off) I ran off with a shiny (literally) new pair of shoes. Go. Me.
Borders was my next target. D'oh, forgot my gift card. Well, I can still look at maps of Germany and German phrasebooks. No good maps of Germany at all, let alone the nice, laminated ones. Debated endlessly on phrasebooks, though.
Then I got groceries. Woo. How exciting.
...
Aren't you glad I don't ramble like this very often?
Feelin' like
tired.
