Tonight was nothing short of amazing. Storms popping up everywhere and spitting out lightning by the truckloads.
On the ride home from work, I saw this little nearby cell popping nice bolts every so often, so I thought I'd see if I could get some shots before it died.
In the process, though, a large line of cells was spreading out to the south and moving ever so slowly north, and these were spitting out lightning almost constantly. Since the eastern cell was all but dead, I moved to the southern storms.
This one's neat not just because of the blinky lights of the airliner, but also because the lightning was bright enough to silhouette the airplane (just to the right of the tall building), which tells you when in the exposure the lightning struck.
When the southern storms started dying, another one popped up to the southeast. I didn't get many good shots from this cell because most of the best lightning was either too far away or behind a gigantic tree.
