Edinburgh 2007 Auditions
Roll up, roll up! Come one, come all - Two Shades of Blue is pleased
to invite all and sundry to
AUDITIONS
for our Edinburgh shows, which will be performed during the week of
13th August 2007. These shows are:
THE MATRIX: THE PANTOMIME (a marvellous panto based on The Matrix)
and
COMEDY AND CAKE (a joyous revue of joy)
"So when will these wondrous auditions be?" I hear you cry... Well
this year there will be three sets of auditions, held at the following
places:
LONDON - 6pm to 8pm at Ben's house in Herne Hill, Sunday May 6th
CAMBRIDGE - 4pm to 7pm in the Green Room, Caius, Saturday May 12th
OXFORD - from 2pm to 5pm in the Mordan Hall, St Hugh's, Sunday May 13th
The auditions are a wee bit more formal than usual OULES and CULES
auditions, but no reason to be scared, we're all friendly and joyous
and will probably have been drinking gin.
One or two things which are a bit different this year... both the
panto and the revue are shows which involve (dum dum dahhh!) music and
singing. There are some non-singing parts, but we'd like to hear
people sing at audition, so please can you come with a song to sing.
It can be anything you like - from a drinking song to opera - whatever
you fancy. Don't worry about bringing sheet music unless you're really
intending to show off though ;-) We want to see if you can hold a tune
and sing with some attitude! Also we are looking for musician types
(notably piano) so if you can play an instrument, do let us know.
If you come to audition, you must be prepared to commit to rehearsals
and to the shows themselves. We will be going to Edinburgh on Saturday
11th of August and returning on Sunday 19th. Rehearsals for The
Matrix: The Pantomime will take place during the week before the show
- starting on Friday 4th August (for principals). Rehearsals for
Comedy and Cake will be spread over weekends in the next few months.
You must also be prepared to pay for the trip. Currently this is
projected at a maximum of £350, and this could be less if we sell lots
of lovely tickets, get sponsorship or freebies etc.
If you would like to audition but can't make any of the above dates,
get in touch and we will try to sort out an alternative.
