Uhm. I wanted to write some Akameda after reading Cigarette Lighter Lovesong. Then I dumped out four drabbles plus one with Nakamaru. Haha, I bet you can tell what my otp is.

1.

“Jin's my best friend,” Ueda announces carelessly, dropping a stack of borrowed CDs beside Jin on his table. Jin gives him a glance and mumbles a greeting, but quickly looks back the lyrics he's working on.

Ueda doesn't have time to pout before Kame brushes up against him, gentle fingers groping Ueda's ass. “Whatever you say, Tat-chan,” he says all cutesy. “We all know Jin likes me best.” He flexes his fingers and Ueda slaps his hand away, face pink. Kame grins like the imp he is, waggles his fingers in front of Ueda teasingly. The silver band on his pinky stands out, flashing in the studio lights, red thread almost visibly linking it to the matching ring on Jin.

“Jin's my best friend,” Ueda announces carelessly, but he isn't.

2.

Without Jin to share cigarettes with him, Kame drags Ueda outside on his smoking break. They sit on the stoop in the cool winter air and Ueda asks, “Why aren't you and Jin together?”

Kame shrugs, blowing smoke from his lips. “We're such close friends that it would suck to break up.” He flicks embers from the tip of his cigarette and watches it burn. “He wants kids, you know, and I can't give him that. So we're better off not even trying.”

“You're not as close anymore anyway,” Ueda muses. He's sitting next to Kame, and Kame's tempted to push him off. “I mean, he's in America, he hasn't called you...” Kame snubs his cigarette and pulls the older man in by his collar menacingly.

“This really isn't a good conversation,” Kame bites. Then their lips clash. Kame doesn't know who started it, only that that it's sloppy and oh so hot. When they pull back, Ueda is still feeling ironic.

“Sorry, Kame-chan. I want kids too,” he breathes. Kame lets go.

3.

Kame isn't talking to Jin, so Ueda fills the space. Jin minds, just a little bit, but he likes it when Ueda dances against him at the start of Cartoon Kat-tun. He likes Ueda sitting next to him, laughing in his ear. He likes being able to take Ueda out afterward, being able to see him in what seems like forever. But as they're leaving the studio together, Kame shoots them the dirtiest look. Jin shivers, tries to ignore it, but Kame's eyes leave the feel of spiders crawling up his spine, and he hates it.

4.

Jin hasn't been sleeping well, so he's almost falling asleep in his seat during Cartoon Kat-tun. And even though they've been up and moving around for the Half and Half game, he's still bleary eyed. He's only half paying attention when Kame admits to using a string tied to his light to switch it off at night, and he's asking the others why they don't.

“Doesn't your light switch off like this?” Kame asks Ueda, miming the act of tugging the string over an overhead light.

“It does,” Ueda replies, “But I sleep with a smaller light on.” Jin perks up at this information; he's never been to Ueda's house, no matter how much he bugs the older man. He wonders what kind of bedroom Ueda has. What size is Ueda's bed.

Then Kame grins in recognition. “Ah, the orange one,” he says. Jin blinks.

“Yeah, that one,” Ueda nods, gesturing with his hands. “It's on the desk next to my bed.”

“It's a pretty bright orange.”

“Yep,” Ueda laughs, and then they move on. Only, Jin can't. Forgive him if he's slow, but he's still half asleep. At least, that's the excuse he uses, because he's pretty sure Kame didn't just say that. Because Ueda's place is probably covered in all the CDs Jin's given to him, and if he hasn't seen Ueda's bedroom, why would Kame?

5.

Jin cannot stand Nakamaru. Sure, Nakamaru is his bandmate, and they get along alright. But it's in the little things, the way he freely says where he's been and what he's doing, that he went to Hokkaido with Ueda and is going to Hawaii with Ueda and was out at dinner the other night with Ueda.

Alright, so it's not the little things that bugs him. It's one huge thing.

Because even though they're all grown up, Nakamaru sometimes takes the train with Ueda. And late at night he goes on the radio with Ueda. And when they're talking about the past, Nakamaru always has stories to tell about Ueda.

Then Ueda smiles, that gorgeous Ueda smile, embarrassed when Nakamaru recounts a silly memory, but so happy when Nakamaru slings his arm around him. Nakamaru's alright if he causes that smile. But really, Jin wants to be the one.
