Apparently We're both right. I was unfamiliar with the other one, and Abel Tasman's naming-of-places. I'm not up on my kiwi history, but I (theoretically) know things about Scandinavia (1000 years ago).

When I was a kid, I always loved reading about people like Mr. Ford, Pythagoras(Sp?) Dr. Heimlich, - you know, those who have eponymous (SUCH! a great word!) objects, principles, theories, that are household words.
