I have watched it quite a few times in the last week.

Speaking of awesome women characters, omoo just inspired me! I think I want to do some sort of a post challenging people to think of and recognize positive fictional female role models who are in a realistic world like our own (i.e. no special powers, no future or historical, no magic, monsters, or men from Mars).

What do you think?

DANA SCULLY!

It's her BIRTHDAY!

(Okay, okay, aliens, but I always thought X-files did a wonderful job grounding the science)

I think people like Dana Scully, and Ellen Harvelle, and Sandra Bennett, and other women who are ordinary humans in an extraordinary world, definitely deserve props, too.

(Not that the extraordinary women don't, but it's easy to be popular when you're a chick with superpowers, you know?)
