A/N: This is based on the Philippine drama I’ve watched maybe in 2003 or 2004 and I so love that drama. I’m trying to make a simplified version of it.
Summary: Will a three - week cruise to The Caribbean change the relationship between two strangers from two definitely different backgrounds and will the ‘escape’ finds a new meaning to both them? Will love find its way through? Will family be against them? Will life turns out well? Find out~ (I’m sucked at summary, so.. read on to know more)
Chapter 4
After meeting Changmin, both of them spend the rest of the day together. Talking, sipping their Cappuccinos and just strolling around the ship, taking time to know each other. By the end of the day, Jaejoong known the fact that Changmin came on the trip alone and also he is the grandson of Shim Kiwon, the owner of Shim Jjang Korean Restaurant franchise. ‘I’m a Korean to the core’ came the reply when Jaejoong joked that ‘I thought you would own a fast food restaurant based on your lifestyle today’.
Jaejoong was amazed at the fact Changmin is already on his last year of his PhD and yet he’s still younger than him. ‘I’m born genius, hyung~~’ Changmin said in a sing song voice to Jaejoong when the older man said he shouldn’t be too absorbed in studying and enjoy life while he’s still young. Jaejoong slapped Changmin’s right arm playfully yet he still smile at the statement. Jaejoong feels comfortable being friends with Changmin as that guy treats him nicely and warm, making Jaejoong feels welcome and safe (just like when he’s with Yoochun and Junsu).
At dinner, Jaejoong also told Changmin that he’s a photographer and he works for Discovery Channel’s Magazine and he lives with his two best friends, Yoochun and Junsu who is like his family already. Changmin exclaimed at the fact Jaejoong is a photographer by profession, reason is; ‘You’re too perfect to be behind a camera, Jaejoong.. You should be in front of the camera; posing, modeling.’ Jaejoong raised an eyebrow at the statement and retorted ‘I may look like this but no, I’m happy with my job, my profession. It’s my passion.’
They parted ways after dinner and Changmin insisted to send Jaejoong to his room but Jaejoong decline saying Changmin didn’t have to do that, considering they are both tired. Changmin went along with that decision and he bids goodbye to the pretty guy and they both part ways at the elevator. Jaejoong was humming Rihanna’s rude boy (sorry, random. I know~) when suddenly his phone rings and he fishes out his phone from his pocket and looks at the caller’s ID. ‘Chunnie~'.
“Jaejoongie baby!” Yoochun’s voice resonates on the speaker when Jaejoong answered his phone.
Smiling slightly, “Yes, Chunnie~” came the reply.
“What are you doing, Joongie? Have you eaten? How’s the trip baby?” Jaejoong is bombarded wit questions from Yoochun.
“I’m on my way to my suite now, Chunnie. Just had my dinner with this.. this guy-Changmin, he’s Korean too by the way and the ship is big. I just went on casual walk along the deck today” Jaejoong chuckled at his friend’s questions because he knows that Yoochun cared about him and want him to enjoy his stay on the ship and not take it as a favor he needs to do for both Yoochun and Junsu.
“Uuu~~ Joongie met someone already? Wow..! I know you will find someone~” Jaejoong can practically hears the grin Yoochun is making on the other line.
“Stop it Chunnie!!! He’s my friend, Chunnie.. And no, I’m not interested in guys~ Please~ enough of seeing you and Su gettin on it at the house. Gah..!!” he exclaimed at Yoochun’s statement.
“Haha.. No need to get all tensed up Joongie.. Just joking~ I know you’re straight, judging from your previous relationships, Joongie~” Yoochun cooed his friend. “So, how was it so far? Is it fun? Where is the ship’s location now?”
“I don’t know exactly where this ship is right now but overall, the ship is okay. It’s big, the room is cozy, and- romantic~ Hahaha~” Jaejoong giggled by the end of his sentence because he knows how Yoochun loves being in a romantic room - with Junsu, of course!
“Awww~ you make me green with envy right now!! Seriously Joongie, I wish I could take Su on that cruise, judging from the way you - the ‘I-couldn’t-care-less’ person described it, makes me wanna be there too.” Yoochun sighed thinking that his ‘early honeymoon’ needs to be postponed at the moment; because Junsu is busy nowadays preparing for his solo exhibition and their wedding. Their wedding is schedule in 3 months time.
“Don’t sulk, Chunnie.. You can still bring Su to the Bahamas on your honeymoon~” Jaejoong cooed his best friend from sulking and he smiled hearing the ‘hmm’ answer from his friend, knowing that Yoochun must be feeling sad he cannot take his boyfriend on the trip.
Smiling goofily, Yoochun answer “I’m planning just that~ Can’t wait to get Su on our honeymoon~ kekeke~”
“Yah! Pervert!” Jaejoong exclaimed but he still smiles at the statement.
“Hehehe~ So Joongie, where are you heading now? I though I heard your footsteps”
“I’m going back to my room now and rest for the day~”
“That’s good if you’re having a great time baby~ oh btw, Junsu said hi. He’s busy at the gallery today~”
Smiling contently, “Well, say hi to him too. Oh and btw, wish him good luck too for the exhibition. I saw the news on his exhibition on the news this morning. I know he’ll make it big, yet again.”
“I’ll pass your hi to him once I met him.. He’s been really busy these few days with the art curator and all. My baby needs some rest after this.” Concern was evident in Yoochun’s voice and Jaejoong smiled at the fact Yoochun truly care and love for his other half.
“I’m sure he’ll manage just fine. With you by his side~” Jaejoong was walking to his suite from the elevator and he fishes out the suite’s cardkey from his back pocket while holding the phone in between his ears and his shoulders.
“Thanks Joongie~ he knows he can lean on my on anything and so do you, Joongie~”
“Glad to know that, Yoochun-ah.” Jaejoong smiles at Yoochun’s words as he holds his phone back with his right hand, along with the cardkey. He was walking slowly towards his room, suddenly the door of the suite besides the honeymoon suite opens and out comes the ‘guy’ from his previous encounter.
“So, first day on the-“ Yoochun was about to continue asking Jaejoong, then suddenly, “Hey, it’s him..” Jaejoong muttered softly under his breath but Yoochun caught what Jaejoong is saying.
“Him? Who?” All Yoochun got was a muttered of words from Jaejoong and he became more curious by the second.
“Joongie~~~~ Tell me, who is it??~” whined Yoochun on the other line. Jaejoong fasten his pace as he followed that ‘guy’ from behind, hoping he could stop the guy from walking away, again.
Yoochun was whining again on the other line but Jaejoong cuts his whine “Chunnie-ah, I need to do something right now, talk to you later. Bye~” without hearing Yoochun’s reply, he close the call and walks as fast as he can to the ‘guy’. Tapping his shoulder.
The ‘guy’ turns around just to find Jaejoong a bit breathless from the fast pace walking and he was caught off guard but he recognize Jaejoong (but decided to keep a straight face) and raised and eyebrow at Jaejoong’s tapping on his shoulder.
“Yes?” That guy spoke in english. “You-you don’t remember me?” Jaejoong was embarrassed that the guy didn’t recognize him. “Should I?” came the cold answer from the guy and makes Jaejoong gulped his saliva painfully.
“No-No.. I don’t think you should..” Jaejoong stared at that guy’s face which is now clearly visible as he was not wearing his hoodie. ‘He’s nice but what’s with the temper’ Jaejoong thought. “So? What do you want from me?” The guy asked clearly feeling annoyed at Jaejoong’s question.
“I-I just want to say that you’ve dropped your iPod when you crashed to me this morning..” Jaejoong flashes a weak smile.
“I dropped it or you stole it from me?” Yunho asked with a mock in voice.
“What the hell??!! How could you accuse me like that?!” Jaejoong was furious at the man in front of him right now.
“Huh.. People like you.. Will find their way to get other’s things.” A smug look graces the taller guy’s face.
“People like me?! WTH?! Who do you think you are? A Prince?!” Jaejoong half shouted to the guy yet the guy didn’t flinch.
“You don’t need to know about me.. Now, where is my iPod?!” the guy stretched out his hands to Jaejoong indicating he wants the iPod now.
“It’s not with me right now.” Jaejoong shoot a death glare while the guy looked as calm as the painting on the side of the hallway.
“And you said you’ve had my iPod since I’ve dropped it this morning.” Mockery was really evident in the taller guy’s voice.
“I have it in my suite you-you bastard!” Jaejoong cannot hold his anger anymore and he called the guy a bastard.
“Well, well.. People like you, stays in a suite? You have a nice taste..” a devilish smirk.
Jaejoong thought; ‘this reminds me why I hate stuck up, snobbish, egoistic bastards!’
“Fucker!” Jaejoong muttered under his breath. Luckily that guy didn’t catch it.
“Just-Just.. Shut up, okay?! I’m not interested in your damn iPod and yes, I stay in a suite. Does that bothers you?!” if looks could kill, the guy could be dead by now considering Jaejoong piercing death stare.
“No.” another devilish smirk, “I’m kinda busy right now, give me my damn iPod next time pretty..” and again.. Another devilish smirk.
Jaejoong totally lost it. He was about to retort back when the guy suddenly walk away (he didn’t forget to shield his face inside his hoodie once more) from the raging Jaejoong. Jaejoong was dumbfounded at his spot while looking at the stranger’s retreating back.
‘What an ass! Guhhh!!!!’ Jaejoong grunted in his mind.
With that, Jaejoong resume his walk to his suite while glancing over his shoulder towards the guy’s far off back.
‘Damn it that bastard! Who the hell he said I stole his iPod?! What does he thinks I am? Such low standard!!’ Jaejoong muttered every curse words he knows (English and Korean) and slot in the cardkey in its slot.
The door of the suite opens and he’s determine to forget what an ass that guy is and he makes his way to the bedroom to change his clothes and take a nice warm bath.
Amazingly, there are LCD television inside the bathroom (which is situated at the foot of the Jacuzzi) and Jaejoong smile contently when he opens the tap and drop in a few drops of essential oils and a foam bath salt inside the Jacuzzi and turns it on. Bubbles coming up from the water and Jaejoong exits himself to the closet to take off his clothes.
After stripping himself and wearing the robe, he make his way inside the bathroom and he’s greeted with the sweet smell of lavender and ylang ylang from the Jacuzzi.
He strips the robe and places it on the hook behind the door and walks back to the Jacuzzi to relax himself. He turns on the television and he chooses to listen to a calming song first. After 1 song, he decided to turns on the news channel.
‘Mr. Jung won’t give his further statement about the disappearance of his son but we’ll get a full statement from his lawyer by tomorrow morning. I’m Choi Seunghyun, reporting for K-TV 4 Late Night News’ the reporter smiles and bid goodbye to the viewers.
“Aish.. This guy’s disappearance sure stirs up many complications and speculations.. Such a burden..” Jaejoong shook his head in disagreement while lathering his smooth pale skin with the foam.
Suddenly, the newscaster announced that there’s a reward for those who manages to find the missing person.
‘Jung Yunho, 28, height: 184cm, weight: 66kg, hair colour: brunette’ the descriptions read at the bottom of the picture of the said guy and Jaejoong gawked.
“OH MY GOD! It’s him!!!!!!” Jaejoong yelled after registering and processing the information he received into his head while pointing accusedly at the television screen and his eyes wide open.
