posting from the hospital

hey heres this account of what happened to me that tommy wrote. its pretty much on point so i'm not going to rewrite it.

so here's the deal, i figured i'd just post the story here instead of telling it to 100 people individually.

last night on robs way home from two street, he got caught up in some trolly tracks while trying to avoid a car. he ended up landing right on his chin. because of this, he got a decent sized laceration on his chin and a few chipped teeth (one of which is pretty much chipped in half). luckily he didn't have any head injuries. he was strong enough to walk home from this accident and i immediately drove him to the hospital.

we got to the Penn ER at about 1am and i am just getting back now at around 10 am. after tons of waiting around, some xrays, and a CT scan, this is the word:

rob got stitched up but unfortunately he has a fracture on his chin and it's slightly missaligned now. because of this, rob needs to get surgery to fix the fracture and alignment. this surgery requires 1 full day of IV antibiotics. since there are no open spots tomorrow for operation, rob needs to stay in the hospital with the antibiotics until at least friday when he can be operated on. because the cut is so close to the fracture, if the cut gets infected then the fracture wont heal properly so it is very important he stays in the hospital the next few days with the IV. he is also on a diet of only soft foods.

once he gets settled in a room he is going to give me a call with his room number/telephone number, visiting hours, and all that good stuff. i plan on heading up there whenever i can to help him pass the time in that boring ass hospital and make him feel a little bit better. if anyone else is down for this let me know and we'll ride up together. alex and i were talking and we thought it might be a good idea to get him a little phillyfixed gift basket or something. like i said, let me know if you wanna join in on the gift basket or just go up and visit. PM me for my number or if you ask around many people have it.
