Day One.

So my boss came up to me at the end of the day and asked: "So what do you think of your first day here?"

I looked at him and said: "This has to be the most undewhelming first day I've ever had in my life."

And I meant it.

What a cool place. What a cool job this is going to be. There was none of the usual stress waves eminating from the building as you'd find in other workplaces. The people there are laid back, easy to talk to and, for the most part, foul mouthed.

I was show to my "desk". I had to stop from touching it and asking "You mean this is mine, as in it's going to be here tomorrow? In the same spot?" I have cubicle walls that I can hang pictures on (and I have to get on that because the only pic I have up there now is my Convergys pass, lol).

Training was cool today as well. The product is very cool and pretty straight forward - well for me anyway. So far I can't how a customer would fuck shit up. Then again I never understood how the residential customers I used to talk to could fuck up turning on thier computers.

The only complaint I have is the company's use of Lotus Notes. I mean GAH! The Mez said it would take me a bit to get used to it. I guess. As much as I don't like MS Office at least it makes more sense than Lotus. But, in the end, it's not worth starting a revolution over. So Lotus notes it is :-)

And if you thought Mesners mp3 collection at home was large, his archive at work is pretty impressive as well ;-)
