Re: Famitsu gave Vagrant Story a 10 so they aren't that crazy =Dr3nz0kuk3nJune 26 2008, 13:00:49 UTC
See, I knew that there were some games that Famitsu gave legitimate 40's to! lol XD
Aww, thanks for the compliment XD Anyway, yeah, lots of people have said that - "I played the first MGS and I sucked at it so I stopped but I'd still like to know what happened." I think part of that is owed to the fact that the control in the PSX MGS is just pants-on-head retarded. If you really did want to give it another go I'd suggest finding the remake of it for GameCube, The Twin Snakes. It's like MGS+1, the control and the graphics are redone in the style of MGS2, and you can shoot in first person view (the fact that you couldn't was a major drawback of the original).
To be honest, even though the series was started back in the day, going back and playing them now just for the crazy wtf conspiracy theory story would still be rewarding enough to keep you interested. Honestly, I don't know how the hell Kojima kept all the information he needed to make the story coherent in his head, but I guess that's the talent of writers, whether they have an editor or not (and truly, Kojima NEEDS an editor lol).
I wish that you could jump right to one part in Act 4 of MGS4 - there was a Metal Gear REX vs. Metal Gear RAY battle where you control REX and I thought of you almost immediately after it started ("Super Robot Metal Gear Wars WUT WUT").
Poor Old Snake. He has to listen to Johnny Cash on his iPod. XD A quirky little feature of MGS4 is that in the cutscenes, a few people make jokes about Snake being old to his face, which causes a drop in his Psyche/Stamina gauge. Poor, poor Geriatric Snake!
