death note
I had like 50 people recommend Death Note to me in a row, and when anime gets mentioned to me by many people in a short span of time I usually take that as some sort of sign that I should watch it (exceptions: Bleach and Naruto, both of them seem kinda meh to me and I'm picky about anime).
Anyway, I finally downloaded it today and Kevin and I just watched the first 10 episodes all in a row.
It was pretty awesome, I'm especially enjoying watching the epic battle of wits.
Anyone else seen it? I know that there's live action Japanese movies to go with it, which doesn't surprise me. Then I heard that there's supposed to be an American remake that I assume will get big screen treatment, but that just seems silly to me, sort of like the live action Dragonball and planned live action MGS movies. The American moviegoing audience is fickle, so unless they can un-Japaneseify the story I don't see it doing that well.
