Adding another item to my list of "things that are the bane of my existence": filing taxes.
But thanks to a call to H&R Block in Flagstaff, the one at University Plaza next to Safeway, THAT nightmare is over. Luckily the same tax advisor who helped me file taxes last year is still working there and luckily she left me her card!
I think that's the same for everybody. Taxes being the nightmare when the time comes around.

MR. X: "It's tax season, so do most Americans."
- The X-Files, "Soft Light", Season 2, Episode 23
Gotta love The X-Files.
Sometimes it made me wish that I didn't hate accounting so much back my freshman/sophomore year when I was a business major. It also made me wish that I hadn't give up on accounting classes (by changing my major to Hotel & Restaurant Management, then psych). But after having taken the same damn financial accounting course five times (flunked three times at Coconino Community College, flunked once at NAU and then withdrew for the fifth and final time), the realization that it's time to stop wasting time on something I'll never pass and move on. But now accounting seem to come in handy.
Oh, the other thing on my list of "things that are the bane of my existance"? It's accounting.
Now just have to send the tax paperwork to the IRS before April 18. After that, it's no more tax filing for the U.S. until I get a job in the U.S. again and god knows when or if that will happen. If I had to do this in Canada, I'd hire an accountant. Or use the accountant that my family used in the past (and I think they still do).
