[Johnny's] Arashi Best Hits Album Tops Album Charts for 2009!
In just five weeks after it's release the Arashi 2CD greatest hits album ‘ALL the BEST! 1999-2009' has become the largest selling album for this year. In the newest Weekly Ranking for September 28th Arashi sold 40,000 copies and so total sales of the album went over 1.24 million copies! The album had been a smash hit right from the start. In the first week after becoming available, it sold 753,000 copies, establishing a record for 2009. 13 days after hitting the shelves, in the Daily Ranking for September 31st it became the first album in 2009 to sell more than a million copies! It is actually the first album for Arashi to become No.1 in a yearly sales ranking. They've achieved the feat 10 years after they had debuted in November 1999!
‘Believe/曇りのち、快晴 (Believe/Kumori nochi, Kaisei)' has become the best selling single of 2009, and ‘ARASHI AROUND ASIA 2008 in TOKYO' the top selling music DVD for this year. Now with their album selling the most copies for 2009, they have crowned themselves in 3 different categories.
‘ALL the BEST! 1999-2009' includes a total of 32 songs. All 31 singles from their debut song ‘A・RA・SHI' to their 26th single ‘明日の記憶/Crazy Moon～キミ・ハ・ムテキ～ : Asu no Kioku/Crazy Moon～Kimi wa Muteki' have been featured [some of the singles were double-a singles]. To thank the fans for the group's 10th anniversary, the Arashi members wrote the lyrics for a new song titled ‘5×10'. It is included in the album as the 32nd song. Nobody can stop their great charge forward!
