Heavy joke

Tomorrow's Eurovision, and something caught my eye in various news about it, on the net (cnn, ynet). They claimed that a finnish heavy metal band Lordi is going to compete.
Quotes: "Finnish rock band Lordi, whose "Hard Rock Hallelujah" brought a dash of the demonic to the good-natured contest." and "a lurid heavy-metal band that declared: 'It's the Arockalypse.'"
So, obviously I got all sceptical and cynical and for the laugh, looked it up in google. I had a good laugh.
Here's a full video on yoTube, of their song for the contest.
My verdict: Heavy riffed, growling pop. Very very catchy. To tell you the truth, since this song doesn't pass as heavy metal in it's best dreams, due to extreme sleaziness and catchiness, they should've soften the riffs and growls and they would actually have a good chance of winning.
I'll check this band's other material, if they have some, to see maybe I misjudged. Maybe they are actually metal, but they just sent a catchy song to the contest to have a slight chance if at all...

edit:
I know what it reminds me, among other things - a bit of Alice Cooper... Nice influence.
I've been a bit harsh, I admit. It passes as rock, they are just way catchy. And the outfits suck. They gotta loose the outfits, it's silly.

I mean, Bon Jovi's "Hey God" would be much more a rock statement, and much less accepted at such a contest. And would have trully no chance of winning. And Bon Jovi never claimed to be Heavy Metal.
