Back from time travel.....
Wow, there is a ton of snow outside. We are guessing that we got somewhere around 24-30 inches of the white stuff. It's very beautiful outside. You know what else is beautiful? POWER!!! Sometime around 5:30-6 we lost power last night (along with the entire Lakes Region and most of Carroll County) because of the storm. It wasn't all bad though... actually it was quite awesome. I got to make dinner on the fireplace, and not just some crap meal. I made lamb chops on the fireplace, and they were the best damn lamb chops I've ever tasted. I liked them so much, I've decided I'm going to cook on the fireplace more often.
After that I stayed awake and called about 10 different people, harrassing them until they had something better to do. Then of course the phones died, so I sat and listened to the crappy battery powered radio... for 10 minutes when that died. Sometime around 2 I decided I should stop putting wood on the fire and go to bed.
I woke up this morning to find that the power had come back on sometime around 10 o'clock along with our phone lines. Our cable is still out, but 2 out of 3 ain't bad. It was a nice trip back to the colonial times with candles, oil lamps and cooking on the open flame. I doubt it will happen again, because already the g-pa is talking about getting a generator. I don't really care about that though... I'm still cooking on the fireplace at least once a week now. I'll be busy most of this weekend, so I'll be back on to update most likely on Sunday. Until then, enjoy the snow :-).
