So yeah, Seattle...

I've been living out on the Central Coast for almost a year and a half now. It's a beautiful area, and the weather is always nice (not to mention we're in the middle of wine country, and my Dad keeps us well stocked with good vintage), but I can't find a job, anywhere. Cumulatively, I've been gainfully employed less than three months, and two weeks of that was at Subway (I was let go from Subway. If you find my self esteem, please send it home). Besides this, I just plain don't feel like I belong here.

So I'm packin' my bags for the misty mountains (where the spirits go...). I have a cousin who shares a house in Seattle with some of his friends. He said it would be okay if I stayed with him while I get my bearings, maybe find a Starbucks that doesn't have five more employees than it can afford to pay, look for a studio apartment. It's right near Microsoft and Nintendo, so I should be able to find a job in my field. Plus I like the rain.

Only thing holding me back is money. I have about twenty in the bank, eight gallons in the tank, and a rusty rear bumper that's going to have to get replaced before I move to a city known for its constant rainfall. I recently got a job cleaning houses, so I may be able to save up enough to get me there by the end of October. I also want to attend Andrew's wedding in November (and Kristen & Dean's, once I hear about a date).

Keep me in your prayers and wish me luck, as I attempt to escape this land of perpetual late-spring/early-summer.
