Apparently,
troops can use silly string to detect possible tripwires on IUDs. The troops spray it across a room; if it hangs in the air it may have caught on a tripwire. It was linked at Fark. It's brilliant and hilarious and so sad it makes me want to cry.
Why does a private citizen have to fight through layers of military bureaucracy to ship troops potentially lifesaving devices? Why does the goddamn military not buy damn silly string and provide it to troops themselves?
