I was watching a Discovery Channel show on YouTube, about the Galapagos Islands.

It was entitled “Galapogos Beyond Darwin Discovery Channel”, and is presented as part of 392 YouTube clips by “WhyEvolutionIsTrue”.
Naturally (forgive the joke), Charles Darwin's theories and evolutionary change and species adaptation was mentioned many times. Darwin's discoveries were more than once mentioned in keeping with the TIME - the religious times of his day. I was doing great with all of this, until I got to where they LIED to bolster their case about evolution VERSUS God and creation. I'm with you on the changing of species through adaptation and the natural selection thingy, but you're gonna lose me if you think I'm going all the way back to a THEORETICAL picture of the first fish climbing out of the water and someday becoming Man. (Couldn't have been the first fish. I mean how many died before that one successful - and pregnant - one managed to master that whole gasping for real air biz?) And I'm going to seriously laugh at you if you go back way further than that to the first one-celled organism that first had life. Uh..... where did it GET that Life Force? Big Banging? OK then, where did that one planet or whatever COME FROM to blast apart for the big bang anyway? And energy changing from raw energy to a life force? WHO created that energy in the first place? Anti-creationist evolutionists love to take you wayyyy back to tout their theory, but they really don't want to hear me take them back further than they're comfortable, do they?
So here's the LIE I heard.
At 1 hour and 5 minutes (1:05:03) into it, the narrator said,
“Darwin was stunned. The evidence that species could change challenged the Biblical version of Creation in which he and most Westerners believed. Religion said life was created in a day, in a touch, by the hand of God, that humans were supreme, formed in God's image, and certainly NOT descended from the animal world. The Bible said that all creatures were designed by God - a design that would never change. ”
“But Darwin's specimens said otherwise. On islands stretched 40 or 50 miles apart, species branched off in different directions, different identities. They adapted. hey evolved. And if they evolved, perhaps humans had evolved, and the Bible, which dominated Western thought, was wrong.”
1. Minor point: No one has proved that these birds and fish, yada yada, ARE truly new. Just because no man in recorded history has found them until they were found, doesn't mean they weren't there before, and doesn't mean they are not undiscovered also somewhere else on the planet. No, I'm not saying they are NOT “new”, or adaptations, just that scientists have to be more careful about declaring something out of hand. They've had egg on their faces in the past - over past declarations. Not even mentioning that the earth is not flat, but just in my lifetime, they've removed a planet from our solar system, taken some dinosaurs back out from my 5th grade research paper, and reclassified others. I wonder if my grade should change now?
2 .The LIE : Am I not looking in the right place? For all I know the Bible NEVER said that creatures “would never change”. Caught ya !!!
Genesis 1:20-26 (NIV 2011)
20 And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning-the fifth day.

NOTHING about the creatures never changing ! The Bible only says they are made after their own kind. (All of Darwin's and everyone else's findings since are after SOME kind, meaning related to others of that same kind - birds, reptiles, fish, invertebrates. Nothing found so far is a COMPLETE new “kind” of its own. And even once found, wouldn't prove it wasn't around earlier. Just means it wasn't found yet.) The Bible also said the creatures were told to “be fruitful and multiply”. (If that means adapt to changing conditions to stay around, be fruitful, and thrive enough to multiply, so be it. The Bible does NOT say that God PRECLUDED any adaptations as playing dirty pool in the gene pool in doing so.)
3 . Even humans HAVE changed and adapted.
Duh! Just since Darwin's time humans all over the world (at least in developed countries, I don't know about teensy undiscovered tribes of Pigmy cousins) have grown progressively TALLER. Even since COLONIAL times ! My parents took me to every historical residence on the East Coast, and along with posing for a cheesy snapshot on EVERY Cannon in every fort for every war we've ever had, I also noticed the smaller size of their furniture (beds in particular), and the lower standard heights of doorways and doorknobs.
And just a trip to a local WalMart will scare you into thinking that the human species is “evolving” still. Not taller this time, but wider - W A Y wider. And if these folks proliferate enough (Ew - what an image ! ) their DNA, slower metabolisms, whatever, will become the new norm, or another norm alongside the older dinosaur-people who don't have to pay for two seats on an airplane. Gee, now that I've given you that example and that mental image (erase, ERASE !), perhaps the Shallowness of the male of our species, who so often judges by good looks alone, maybe isn't such a bad thing after all !
But Darwin, you silly monkey, you (and your colleagues).....
You have NOT proved, by your “going forward in time” method of a species adapting and changing to suit climate changes, that you can then DISPROVE the Bible or the creation by GOD using a “going backward in time” extrapolation !
